GuiltyBit's Reviews

Although Cyberconnect2 knows how to give life to the characters of an anime / manga in a video game, we are facing yet another case, and there are already several, of extremely powerful IP that is not used 100%.

8.1 / 10.0 - Astria Ascending
Oct 13, 2021

Astria Ascending seeks to captivate you by the eyes and she succeeds. However, convincing you at the controls has it more complicated if you are a veteran in the genre, since his history and combats could take a couple of more turns to be more original. Still, it is an excellent JRPG that will please most.

I am more surprised than I expected with the Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster review. Either the original game has aged better than the mass consciousness remembers, or Square Enix has improved its experience enough to become a JRPG more than worth the name it carries. You will find much better games in the genre. If you are looking for more round works we still have Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster, not to mention how close the remastering of the sixth installment is. But it's worth taking this look back and reevaluating our views. Perhaps this way we will reach a consensus, once and for all, of what is not the worst installment of the saga.

Actraiser Renaissance marks the return of a classic that could not make a big name for itself in its day. With its totally renewed visual and sound aspect, it aims to conquer the hearts of players looking for cocktails of atypical genres. And boy does he get it.

8.5 / 10.0 - UnMetal
Oct 5, 2021

Once again, Fran Téllez offers us a video game that despite being a clear tribute to the beginnings of the Metal Gear saga, knows how to maintain its own personality by inserting multiple winks and references to other television and cinematographic works and obviously from the world of videogame. If you give it a chance, you will enjoy yourself as dwarves.

8 / 10.0 - FIFA 22
Oct 5, 2021

FIFA 22 does not reinvent football by simulation nor does it pretend to. With a new approach in which matches are slower and require more passing than dribbling, he seeks to shift the formula towards something less arcade and more realistic. The many game modes will suit any lover of the beautiful game, something that is appreciated, since they have not neglected the offline modes of the online modes, much more lucrative for EA. With something to polish the gameplay and a renewed Career Mode, more similar to the Master League, this is a very satisfactory title for all the fans. Or at least for those who were shocked at how arcade it had become. The only downside, as always, the burden of micropayments, which seems an endemic evil in the industry and which FIFA makes cash, as every year.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot for Nintendo Switch is not the best version of the game, but it is the most comfortable. Having the entire adventure of Goku and the Z Warriors in the palm of your hand is a delight for manga fans who have no other playable alternative. In addition, the game comes with two additional content, which translates into more hours living the new transformations of Goku and Vegeta that adds value to the general title.

9.3 / 10.0 - Bravely Default 2
Sep 29, 2021

Bravely Default II did not have a great reception in its day. This PC version, in addition to demonstrating once again how well the JRPG genre performs in compatible, reminds us of the outstanding game that is the work of Claytechworks. Unless you are interested in the genre, Bravely Default II is a must. I hope that with the PC version you get the love you deserve.

My feelings are mixed in this Final Fantasy I Pixel Remaster review. Although I have fond memories of the original title, it hurts to see how badly it has aged in its design, its approach to fighting and the map. Still, it makes up for it in every way it can: the graphic treatment it has received is luxurious, and the orchestrated music elevates a magnificent soundtrack on its own. I'm glad to revisit such an important game in the history of Square Enix.

5.2 / 10.0 - Mary Skelter Finale
Sep 28, 2021

Mary Skelter Finale is, if we reduce it to her small universe, a good closing for the saga. Now, like JRPG itself, it is a proposal that repeats problems and lacks a great lack of ambition. I save it because it will be interesting to your target audience, but it falls far short of what an admirable JRPG should offer.

9 / 10.0 - Deathloop
Sep 26, 2021

Arkane puts a twist on his seasoned formula. The best of his other works can be found here. Gameplay, level design, mechanics ... All at the service of a Rogue-Like structure, which the studio has managed to bring to its field. Deathloop will not leave anyone indifferent, we assure you.

8.5 / 10.0 - WRC 10
Sep 26, 2021

Halfway between arcade and simulation, but more oriented to the latter, WRC10 offers us a very complete game and one of the most rewarding drives we have seen. With some non-serious technical problem, WRC10 will keep us hooked with its game modes and, specifically, with a Career Mode as complete as it is entertaining.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is an essential game for anyone who does not play the original. If you have already played the original, you will not find anything that encourages you to return beyond your own desire to see the scarce new narrative content. The customization and playable facilities offered by the game do not excessively break a unique experience that can be lived as in the original. On the other hand, the desire to gamify a work that did not need it, yes it can tarnish the experience of the player, because if something did not need the game of Hideo Kojima is the competition or the races.

7.2 / 10.0 - Traffic Jams
Sep 22, 2021

After trying multiple experiences on PlayStation VR, and finding no satisfaction with practically any, Traffic Jams pops up and shakes my hand wide open. A very healthy exercise to show that with a very simple idea, but well polished, great feats can be achieved. Even entertain your audience without much effort.

7 / 10.0 - Clid the Snail
Sep 20, 2021

A fun title to keep in mind, but one that needed a little more cooking. Despite having a lot of variety thanks to mixing combat, exploration, puzzles and some role playing, it does not excel in any of these fields. Still, fans of the genre will find a game very entertaining and with more work, it can lay the foundations for a new saga.

The same thing happens to Final Fantays IV Pixel Remaster as to its previous installments. It is a good gateway to seek to enjoy the classic without many adulterations, but its technical problems and lack of ambition makes its 3D remake of Nintendo DS, mobile phones and Steam more attractive.

Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster transports us back to the magical world of NES but with a more than grateful face and technological facelift. Of course, it has nothing to do with the remake of Nintendo DS, mobile phones and Steam, but in order to enjoy the original version, it is the best option we have on the market.

You have to be clear about what you want when you enter to play Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions. Nor is it a sports game with high levels of realism, much less is it the next Street Fighter. The bottom line is that it will not become one of the best games of its kind. But who cares. As the quintessential boxing franchise game, it's the best experience fans can get into.

9.5 / 10.0 - Dice Legacy
Sep 11, 2021

It does not ask us as much complication as a Civilization or a Humankind. It also doesn't have as many options as a Theme-whatever. But of course, his strategy is very intense. The games are fast, direct and we will have to take into account millions of things when carrying out the mission of the scenario.
