Mafia III: Definitive Edition may not be faithful to its predecessors, but there are still players who can forgive it for that and enjoy it for what it is. The game offers a great story that explores the life of an African American and his struggle against pervasive racism. Plus, the amazing soundtrack helps ease the frustration of constantly repeating missions. What cannot be forgiven, however, is the lack of full localization—it’s limited to subtitles only. Even though I viewed the game as a standalone title, I can’t rate it any higher than average. I had a really hard time finishing it because I was truly tired of driving back and forth.

Once you get past the lack of a tutorial, work your way through at least the basic mechanics, and make your first progress, Astroneer transforms into a beautifully crafted open-world survival game. It’s one of those games that gives you as much as you put into it and lets you work at your own pace to achieve your goals. If you buy it with this approach in mind, you’ll have a soothing and truly enjoyable experience.

Even the original Lollipop Chainsaw, despite its commercial success, is a game aimed at a specific audience. This is even more true of the remaster, subtitled RePOP, as the design elements used have drifted even further from today’s mainstream standards after twelve years. If that isn’t a major issue for you and you’re drawn to the campy, grindhouse aesthetic, you still have a good chance of having a decent time. The technical execution of the new version, however, is a disappointment, as it currently introduces new problems rather than satisfactorily resolving the old ones.

Whether Mafia II needed a remaster is up for debate—after all, there weren’t any major changes. While the graphics have been improved and some bugs have been fixed, quite a few remain, which is a real shame. One of the game’s greatest strengths, just like in the first installment, is its atmosphere. Vito, Joe, and the other characters are well-written, and their dialogue feels natural. The one-liners are fresh and funny. Overall, I’d say it’s a pleasant, nostalgic experience, though it may struggle to appeal to new players who are used to greater freedom and an open-world experience.

Until Then is the second title from these authors, who return with a more varied color palette and a world that appears more vibrant at first glance—but which is, in reality, dying amid the turmoil of traumas fueled by social media. The newly chosen 2.5D perspective has its weaknesses, but when paired with a carefully crafted mystery story complemented by several interesting themes, it paints a compelling picture of today’s young generation—one that will occasionally require you to do more than just click through dialogues.

Nobody Wants to Die is a captivating detective adventure game set in a dystopian New York in the year 2329, where the right to life depends on how much money you have. Even so, thanks to its story and visuals, it’s a well-crafted game that’s sure to captivate you.

Visions of Mana is an absolutely fantastic game. If I were to evaluate it as a whole—without nitpicking details that the average player, who just wants to have some fun every now and then, wouldn’t even notice—it would certainly receive a higher rating. Unfortunately, those few minor flaws, when added up, detract from the quality of the game, and even though they’re small details, a billion snowflakes can add up to a blizzard. It’s a shame, because this wonderfully fairy-tale-like, cheerful, and action-packed game is incredibly satisfying just because of how beautiful it sounds.

Diplomacy is Not an Option from the development studio Door 407 is undoubtedly a very ambitious project that is poised to become a great game in its category. However, it’s also a game with monotonous—albeit excellent—gameplay that will appeal primarily to fans of the genre and lovers of the combination of tower defense, base builder, and RTS. Defending your base will eventually become a real challenge, and you’ll be running around trying to handle everything at once, but the user-friendly interface does its job well. At this stage, there are still some bugs in the game that need to be fixed, and it’s clear that the developers still have a lot of work ahead of them to bring their creation to perfection.

Fighting games that bring together famous characters from Marvel and Capcom remain popular to this day, and Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics currently offers the easiest and most convenient way to play them—especially if you want to test your skills against other players online. Recommending this collection to fighting game enthusiasts is actually unnecessary, since they already know they’re getting a collection of key titles in the genre. That’s why I’d like to appeal mainly to fans of classic arcade machines and lovers of the 2D aesthetics of the ’90s. After all, the battles between Marvel and Capcom characters are among the highlights of this pixelated spectacle.

Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter is a naval simulator featuring a Fletcher-class destroyer, in which your mission is to hunt down enemy submarines and protect Allied vessels. The game largely revolves around monitoring instruments, planning, and strategy, so it’s neither an easy nor an intuitive title. The developers’ pursuit of maximum realism is also one of the game’s weaknesses, but it will appeal to niche players who love planning, simulators, and naval themes.

I recommend The Mobius Machine to both seasoned gamers and complete beginners. The game grabs you right away and won’t let go. It captivates with its beautiful visuals, fast-paced gameplay, and visually stunning locations. Although the project isn’t without its flaws, it’s definitely worth a few hours of great entertainment.

Terminus: Zombie Survivors is a fun yet fairly challenging roguelike game where you try to survive in a world overrun by zombies. Due to the turn-based gameplay and AP consumption, you must carefully consider every move you make. With a diverse range of playable classes, randomly generated environments, multiple possible endings, and a wide variety of items, the game offers amazing replayability. However, some players may be put off by the difficulty until they’ve learned the game well, understood its mechanics, and are able to enjoy its full potential.

All in all, is God of Weapons worth it? Absolutely! For five euros, you get a game that offers quick half-hour play sessions with nice 3D graphics. With twelve distinct characters—each with three additional variants—you get an enormous amount of content, and your curiosity will keep you coming back for more. You’ll switch between characters, adjust your strategy, and change up your starting weapons and other gear. Plus, the game is so simple that it’ll win over absolutely everyone.

The Rogue Prince of Persia successfully blends classic elements of the famous series with modern roguelike mechanics, creating a unique experience. Randomly generated levels, permanent upgrades, and a varied combat system bring great dynamics and replayability to the game. The distinctive visual style and original soundtrack further enhance the game’s atmosphere. Unfortunately, since it’s still in Early Access, the game currently suffers from a lack of content, which means that after a few hours, it starts to feel repetitive and a bit boring. However, the developers aren’t sitting idle, and according to their published roadmap, we can expect a large amount of new content by November. Even so, The Rogue Prince of Persia will definitely not disappoint you. Whether you’re a longtime Prince of Persia fan or just getting started with the series, get ready to die—a lot. Welcome back to Persia!

So, to sum it up. The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is a very good DLC, but it was released at an inopportune time, so its biggest new features are often criticized unnecessarily. However, anyone who dives into the main story is in for a lot of fun, and I’d actually say that everyone will find their own reason here to return to the world of Tamriel. And who knows—maybe we’ll have to wait longer than usual for the next DLC, because Bethesda wants to change its strategy for releasing new content, and the “one DLC per year” rule will likely no longer apply.

Players are treated to a haunting journey full of emotional complexity set in a visually stunning environment. On top of that, you get an immersive soundtrack. If, like me, you enjoy a mix of psychological horror, an innovative combat system, rich character development, and cute anime girls, this title is a must-have for your library. I’m definitely not afraid to say that Death end re;Quest 2 sets a high bar for the JRPG genre.
