The Great War: Western Front™ is undoubtedly one of the biggest surprises of the year in the RTS genre. It is currently arguably the best video game adaptation of World War I, or more specifically, trench warfare. The game offers many strategic options and forces you to think and plan your tactics, because a direct, ill-considered attack will only send your units to a quick death. The historical accuracy in terms of units, concept, gameplay, and presentation is truly impressive. However, the game is let down by a highly cheating AI, unbalanced difficulty, and bugs.

Whether you’re already into singing or just want to learn a little something in a relaxed way, One Hand Clapping is the perfect choice for you. Simple tasks based on singing specific notes or rhythmically tapping keys are skillfully woven into various puzzles, so they never get repetitive; this also means the game is accessible to anyone who isn’t afraid to experiment a little with the controls.

It’s a shame that Forspoken wasn’t a huge commercial success. Players were put off by the high price tag for what is actually quite a small amount of content (you can finish it quickly if you’re not aiming to complete everything but just want to get through the story), and some players were also bothered by the graphics and optimization. But you can’t please everyone. I’m sorry that this kitschy (but in a good way, in my opinion) beautiful love story, which fully unfolds in the end, didn’t melt the heart of the average gamer, just like the supposedly imperfect open world and combat system. Then we have to ask how Forspoken stacks up against games like Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, and others. However, since a review reflects the reviewer’s subjective opinion, I’m giving the game an above-average rating.

Personally, I can’t recommend Priest Simulator highly enough. It caught my attention with its original, if unconventional, concept. It’s definitely a wild ride that shouldn’t be missing from your game library. The game teaches you how to become the best vampire Christian priest, and it’s packed with dark humor and an incredible soundtrack. And remember, as one good book says: “The only good Satanist is a dead Satanist.” Now just put on your gloves and let’s get to it.

Old World is a fantastic historical 4X strategy game that leverages its historical foundations to great effect. The need to anticipate that every action will have consequences, the power of diplomacy, and the family ties that play a crucial role here—it all comes together beautifully. However, you may encounter persistent performance issues and stuttering throughout the game. Sometimes, certain diplomatic events can even be a bit tedious, as you simply have to attend to them even when you’d rather be managing your own family and the affairs of your empire. For fans of the genre, the game offers exactly what you’d expect, and for newcomers, it provides a great experience and an introduction to the world of 4X strategy games.

Dead Island 2 is a pleasant surprise, but unfortunately it doesn't offer anything new. I’d go so far as to say it’s just a better version of its predecessor. It’s a bit more fun, more brutal, more polished, and definitely works better in co-op mode. Still, after nine years of development, I would have expected something more. The combat system is flawless, and destroying the undead is the best part.

Creepy Tale 3: Ingrid Penance offers an intriguing story with an even more compelling theme relevant to our times. Every mistake you make will be punished severely, and only you can decide the fate of this spoiled young girl. The karma system introduces important decisions that genuinely influence the plot, offering plenty of optional content as a result. You certainly won’t stop at just one playthrough, because that would mean depriving yourself of more great scenes. Even though the third installment has its flaws and, once again, fails to address some recurring issues from the past, you’ll enjoy this brutal adventure in hell itself more than any other in the series.

Corpse Keeper offers a truly unique gameplay experience that will keep you engaged, but unfortunately, it’s not for everyone (especially if you’re a complete newcomer to the Souls series). For me, as a newcomer, it felt quite confusing, disorienting, and above all, really very difficult. In my humble opinion, the developers should fine-tune the mechanics a bit more for new players and add a slightly more polished soundtrack. As an indie game, however, it has already shown great potential and a significant challenge in early access. I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops in the future.

For several months, I’d been looking forward to finally playing—even though I don’t own and have never owned a PlayStation console—one of the greatest gaming gems this console has ever seen. Instead of the excitement I’d sort of expected, I was met with a huge disappointment and a very cold, if not downright icy, shower. The Last of Us Part I is, overall, a disappointment in its PC version, and while the story and gameplay feel solid, all the positive aspects are quickly overshadowed by the terrible technical performance, which means you won’t get to fully enjoy the adventures of Joel Miller and Ellie Williams—at least not in its current state. On behalf of us at Gaming Professors, I’m giving the PC version a mere five out of ten points.

Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs is a fantastic expansion that introduces three new playable characters and additional game mechanics. It might take a little while to get the hang of them at first, but you’ll soon find your footing and start conquering the world. Earning slots in the towers—and the bonuses that come with them—is an interesting concept, though you can lose them if another faction outbids you. The only thing that’s a bit annoying is the long loading screen, so you’ll usually resort to the automatic battle resolution.

If you're looking for some lighthearted entertainment that doesn't require you to think too hard or stay on your toes, Fresh Start Cleaning Simulator is right up your alley. The game’s relaxing nature, combined with its environmental message, will lull you into a state of calm as you cleanse the virtual world, but if you’re expecting a challenge, I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you. Cleaning has never been my favorite activity, but Fresh Start Cleaning Simulator manages to mimic the mechanics of the real thing in a satisfying way.

What else can I say to wrap things up? Peppa Pig: World Adventures is designed for the youngest kids. There are plenty of fun things for them to do and see. Everything in the game is simple, yet features a varied design, so it will undoubtedly keep kids entertained for hours on end. I highly recommend it to parents with children, because playing together is much more fun. So don’t forget to put on your rubber boots and head out into the muddy puddles with Peppa Pig.

As a 2D underwater horror game, SILT stands out for its stylization, which is great, but there’s nothing deeper behind it. The soundtrack doesn’t help the atmosphere; it’s rather lackluster. Controlling the fish and navigating the environment are nice elements that carry the game throughout. Thanks to its short three-hour runtime, the game stays fresh until the end, which you’ll undoubtedly forget very soon and never think of again—yet you won’t regret playing it.

Spirit Hunters: Infinite Horde is currently in early access, and it’s important to view the game in that light. Compared to Vampire Survivors, it’s definitely not a standout title, and due to its flawed progression system, it probably never will be—unless the developers make some major changes. Fortunately, however, the visuals are appealing and will captivate you. Otherwise, the game unfortunately doesn’t offer anything groundbreaking or mind-blowing just yet.

Pixel Cup Soccer – Ultimate Edition is a soccer game set in the style of early 20th-century sports games. As a result, the graphics aren’t one of its strong points. The same goes for the game mechanics, so fans of technically demanding soccer won’t find much to enjoy here. However, the positives far outweigh the negatives; almost everything can be customized here, and the game is fun not only for solo players but also for a group of friends. Keep in mind, though, that this is a sports game with repetitive content, so long-term play will feel cyclical and monotonous.

Under normal circumstances, I’d say that Into the Radius is a game for those who don’t like to be led by the hand and have the patience for a slow pace and the need for careful resource management. However, given that virtual reality is currently dominated by indie games rather than big-budget titles, I think that all VR headset owners should at least give this exceptional and highly immersive game a try. It’s certainly not a universally appealing blockbuster like Half-Life: Alyx or Horizon Call of the Mountain, but I wouldn’t hesitate to say that Into the Radius is among the best games you can play in virtual reality.

DC's Justice League: Cosmic Chaos is, in a way, a very contradictory game. Both children and parents can play it, but all generations will struggle with the computer keyboard if they want to enjoy the full experience. Not to mention that in co-op mode on the PC version, they can't even use a properly split screen. Essentially, the game suffers most from the very elements it’s built on and meant to appeal to players of all ages. Everything else, however, is fantastic—from the story, voice acting, and audio to the costumes. If only everyone didn’t end up breaking their fingers in the process.

Monster Prom tries to stand out from the crowd of other dating simulators as much as possible—and it succeeds. Not only does the game let you play alongside up to three other players, but it also offers an interesting and humorous world with plenty of different options, endings, and events that will keep you entertained for hours. I’m a bit disappointed that the game is so unforgiving and punishes even the slightest mistake, because finding a date for the prom won’t happen after just a few tries. However, that desire to explore is the main reason Monster Prom will keep you hooked for hours.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is the fresh spin-off the series needs. The developers at PlatinumGames have shown us that Bayonetta doesn’t have to be constantly sexualized to be successful. The game’s fairy-tale style is simply wonderful, and honestly, I can’t imagine it looking any other way. The controls are a bit tricky at first, but you’ll get the hang of them quickly. The chemistry between the main characters is the best part of the game, along with the beautiful, colorful illustrations. Another plus is that you can play the game both on your own and with your family.
