After spending many hours on REPLIKATOR I personally notice that the game has 2 sides; One side is very positive. I'm mainly talking about the gameplay, which is accessible, yet challenging, and the other side is the light repetition that quickly plays up. At some point you will have seen the boarding of the rooms and the emptying of them. It is also a pity that you have to start the game over and over again when you die. It would have been more fun if the roguelike gameplay had an alternative option to just be able to replay the levels until the final boss. You do notice that you are getting further and further, but that sometimes takes too long to remain really interesting. However, REPLIKATOR is a unique title that can certainly be an excellent filler for the empty hours.

All in all, I had fun with this game. The first hours are quite addictive and you actually want to constantly try to improve your previous round. Collecting in-game scrap is too slow and you are only really rewarded when you manage to complete a level. So if you get stuck at a certain point, you will hang around in the same boat for quite a while, so that at some point you will start to lose motivation. However, the challenge is not so great that it becomes demotivating and you don't get any further. In addition, after about 5 hours you have seen the gameplay mechanics, however simplistic they may be. It is therefore a wonder that people manage to keep you busy for such a long time with just one button in terms of basic control.

The Past Within is a fun co-op game that is really fun, and that is mainly due to the unique gameplay. Graphically it is not very high, but the difference between 2D and 3D of the Past and the Future just does its job. Especially fans of Rusty Lake's previous games will immediately recognize the style. Although not all puzzles are equally brilliant, it is still fun to solve them together. Do you have an hour or two of free time left and would you like to do your own escape room on the couch with a friend? Then get The Past Within for a few euros and start puzzling quickly!

Do My Best knows how to create a great game with The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales with a lot of original ideas and combinations of elements. The world and story is super interesting. You read all the dialogues here and you want to skip as little as possible here. The puzzles and gameplay is not super complicated, but this keeps the pace of the story nice. Each of the six books is about an hour of fun and this takes a little longer if you really try to check everything. A great game, especially when you consider that the studio is only two strong. Highly recommended and I'm really looking forward to the next game from this studio.

Bright colors and a cartoonish style give it the typical Crash atmosphere and the music also makes you very happy. But this is not enough to keep players interested for a long time. Developer Toys for Bob is currently working on the first season of the game and that will bring more content.

Park Beyond is a good first attempt from the makers of Tropico. The base is very entertaining and you can find quite a lot of entertainment here. The eight missions give the player a nice full introduction to all elements and the game is certainly not easy. The game uses Unreal 4 and you can certainly see this. But the interface holds the game back considerably when it comes to building roller coasters, roads or complete buildings.

This game is quite deep. You can completely adjust your playing style and strategy to what feels best for you. In the end it has become an extensive baseball game in which you can put in a lot of hours. It takes a while to figure out all the button combinations, but after that there's plenty of fun to be had. Moreover, there are no annoying microtransactions to make you spend even more money. Looking for something a little more light-hearted than MLB The Show, but want a game that's pretty deep? Then we highly recommend Super Mega Baseball 4.

Final Fantasy XVI manages to wash away the foul aftertaste of Final Fantasy XV without any problems. It has become a much better game on all fronts. The story may start slowly and in the beginning does not feel very much like we are used to from the series, but once the brakes are off it does not stop. Many fans will immediately drop out because of the combat, because it should be turn-based. That does not alter the fact that the end product has become very good. I warmly welcome new fans who have become interested in the setting and combat. Don't let yourself be chased away.

Every year the question is how good F1 has become again, but again this year they manage to outdo themselves at Codemasters. The game has some innovation due to the slightly changed interface, the return of the story mode and the addition of F1 World. Above all, F1 World brings many challenges that will make you want to return. The career mode, however, brings very few new features, but is still rock solid. The gameplay changes such as the excessive oversteer takes some getting used to, but eventually brings a lot more realism. I take for granted the poor acting and voice-overs, but they bring a somewhat childish character to the game. However, F1 23 is again a good step forward and especially with the many challenges that have been added, great value for money.

You will often see that the lesser-known titles often score the best. Earlier we saw how cool the game Children of Silentown was, and this is just such a title. With a big crash in the middle part, I could enjoy myself for hours with this game. There isn't a lot of challenge in the puzzles, but I had a great time with the light platform elements in combination with the daily activities and adventures you experience. The animals that serve as NPCs are attractively designed and the game's graphics are beautifully put together. The fact that there is still some atmosphere missing in terms of audio should not be such a disaster. The many loading times that pass you by are a blemish on the high quality that they try to bring. The game mainly brings relaxation and will never put the pressure too high. Restful enjoyment is perhaps the most important thing here and it certainly succeeds.

The package is gigantic and impossible to discuss in its entirety. This new part has become such a game that grabs you immediately and doesn't let go. The ability to customize your character in dozens of ways is nothing short of fantastic, and the story is told in an entertaining way. The most important thing about Diablo is collecting loot, and as soon as the first loot falls out of a box, the loot fever starts and you don't want anything else. All this is designed in one of the most beautiful games of the moment, full of detail and eye-catching environments.

Toodee and Topdee is a unique game that actually does almost everything right in its simplicity. It's nice that you can go both co-op and alone in the many levels of the game. In terms of replay value, you may not be able to finish the game again, but if you want you can also try to collect all the ladybugs that walk through the levels. Each chapter brings its new features, including blocks that fall down, or buttons that bring up or remove certain platforms. The bosses are also quite challenging, but by adjusting the difficulty you can still overcome each level quite easily. It is therefore up to the player to determine the balance, although the contrast between those difficulties is quite large.

It hurts to burn down a game that takes place in the universe of The Lord of the Rings. But just like the series The Ring of Power, the board is completely missed here. The graphics are of a deplorable level and the bugs often make the game literally unplayable. In addition, the gameplay is extremely shallow and boring. Are there no pluses at all? One or two puzzles are quite nice and the voices of Gollum and Gandalf are not bad. But there really isn't much more than that. Daedalic Entertainment had quite a nice concept in terms of concept and also had a legendary license that they could work with. What do they make of it? A game just as ugly and rotten as Gollum itself, which you should stay very far away from.

It is difficult to say whether this game is for adults or for children. This game is just too difficult and too extensive for the really small kids, and just too easy for adults. I therefore think that they have tried to find a middle ground that is just not balanced enough for any target group. You notice during AI races that you often get it thrown in the last round and you will still be able to win quite easily with some boosts and power-ups. LEGO 2K Drive, however, is a refreshing concept that especially feels very varied. The racing that is interspersed with chases, then checkpoint races, then bomb-dodging challenges constantly feels quite enjoyable.

Puzzle Bobble Everybubble is therefore a section that neatly ticks off all the options you would expect from a new Puzzle Bobble game. But the new additions make the game feel a lot harder and more rushed than before. The game contains tons of levels, but offers little extra around it to give you a nice goal to go through it all. With only two modes, you have little to choose from. It remains Puzzle Bobble and the formula is still entertaining after all these years, but it manages to surprise or innovate little.

Doomblade is a Metroidvania you don't often see anymore. In a sea of imitators and titles that don't offer much else, Doomblade surprises. Rarely do you see one with an exploration system that gives you such a satisfying feeling. With just under ten hours, the game is the ideal length to play again to go through the story without upgrades, for example. That duration depends very much on how good you are. Checkpoints can be a bit far from each other and the game is quite challenging.

If I didn't express my enthusiasm for Live A Live correctly with the account above, let me just sum it up. Perhaps it's a good thing that Live A Live never came out in Europe in 1994, because this remake has made me want to enjoy the genre again. It's a great game and a must for anyone with even the slightest interest in the genre. There are some lesser aspects, such as the combat, and some scenarios are a bit less than the others. Although that again depends on each person. The conclusion, however, is well worth the journey.

What makes this game so characteristic are especially the super cheerful and colorful graphics and the good background music that manages to remain varied, but also the same. The seasons are beautifully depicted with falling leaves, snow, growing leaves on the trees and then the sun that comes up again. The UI is well-arranged and clear, although selecting the right character is sometimes a chore that takes too much time. In terms of content, the game seems hefty with 25 quests to choose from, but because the gameplay is so simple and simplistic, you'll probably have seen the game before. Minabo is therefore a game that you can play through in between and then leave it for a while, to be able to pick it up again later. The concept is unique and refreshing, but also so monotonous that it could get boring rather quickly. All in all, I certainly don't want to put the game in too negative a light, given the mainly positive undertone that it manages to radiate as far as I'm concerned. In addition, it even manages to arouse a slight moral sense in me, which is actually quite special for such a playful title as this one. I would say: Give it a chance and live that life and get the most out of it! Because it's short…

After about 2 hours when the credits come, you can only really judge whether Varney Lake has been worth it and the 10 Euro rolls out of your pocket or whether you give a lot for that money in return. As far as I'm concerned, the story is a lot more accessible and interesting than that of Mothmen and I think casual players will find this game better than its predecessor. Although there are references, you do not necessarily have to have played the first part. However, there are fewer options that really influence the story.

Outside of the main missions, there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy in the Burning Shores. Exploring ruins is one of them, known from Forbidden West. However, these are now a bit more extensive and there are sometimes even extra side missions attached to them. For example, during a main mission we accidentally came across a ruin and wanted to do it “quickly”. After completing the ruins we suddenly ran into an old acquaintance. What followed was a fantastic side mission with lots of action, emotion and nice loot. The expansion seems to contain much more of these kinds of secrets than the main game and therefore gives you a lot of content for a low price. Burning Shores can be purchased for only € 20 and that is a bargain.
