It's clear, Helldivers 2 is fun. Very nice indeed. It is not without reason that this became the best-selling Playstation game on PC within a few days. The wonderful shooting, the spectacular Stratagems and the teamwork while playing makes Helldivers 2 one big party. There are few games that can give you so much fun and chaos, combined with perhaps not the very best graphics, but one of the most atmospheric. You often imagine yourself in a Starship Troopers or Terminator movie with all the explosions and bullets around you. It's a shame that the game was plagued by so many technical issues in the first few days, but the developer has done everything they can to resolve this and has already largely succeeded. The problems must of course be taken into account in the assessment, but make no mistake, Helldivers 2 is already one of the best games of 2024 and will only get better in the future with all the new free content. And for only €40 this is a no-brainer, get that trade!

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a title that evokes mixed feelings. At times the game excels for its action and humor, but it also struggles with the challenges of its 'game as a service' model. The constant repetition of the same missions and the push for daily assignments can become quite frustrating at a certain point. The biggest frustration, however, is the wasted potential. It's clear that a linear single-player game is much more suitable for Suicide Squad. Rocksteady's attempt to get players to grind for better weapons and gear just isn't fun enough.

Many players will complete this game in one session, because the game works like a charm. Unfortunately, it is on the short side for a game costing around two tens of euros. Despite the price, Toy Trains is a VR title that I would recommend to every VR player and I hope the makers come up with even more levels.

The developers promised a lot with their Kickstarter campaign and during interviews it seemed like it could be something special. Unfortunately not much was made of that. Farsiders revels in mediocrity and I still struggle to think of why anyone could like this game. So leave it alone.

Hidden Through Time 2 is the perfect relaxation game. There are no time limits, scores, penalties or major mistakes you can make. You can also play the game nicely together, an extra pair of eyes certainly helps and makes the game even more fun. It looks very colorful and with editor and hopefully an active community you can expect many more levels. The only frustration here is when you can't find the item. I must have spent tens of minutes looking for a spoon before finally finding it in a very logical place. The feeling of victory was great after finally finding that spoon and that is why these types of books and games have been popular for years.

Dead Man's Diary is a game that is well put together in concept and has the potential to be a great title. In terms of atmosphere, it works and everything feels oppressive, partly because you are often threatened by enemies, but practically never encounter them in the first hours. The bombastic sounds contribute to this. For example, the bear that is constantly on your heels, but you will hardly ever see, regularly causes you to break out in a sweat. The scary moments occur regularly, especially in the beginning. This is not a game like Fallout, where you can take out your arsenal and have a blast. Action is virtually non-existent. The puzzles, including fixing the electricity panels, lock picking and cracking safes, are fun and sometimes quite deep in that regard. However, the game also has its serious flaws, such as the lack of variation in the environments and certain components that are less developed, including the voice casting, overly complex controls (the use of R1 when switching inventory is unnecessarily cumbersome) and the changing graphics. Dead Man's Diary contains an excellent game, but unfortunately it is not quite that in the end. However, give it a chance, and you will be several hours and chapters further, with the necessary excitement!

With an excellent gaming year of 2023 behind us, with Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1, among others, receiving great praise, the competition in the land of fighting games is enormous. But fortunately, Tekken 8 takes on that competition with ease. Despite the steep learning curve, Tekken's combat is as usual, with the new Heat feature introducing some extra aggression into the game. Moreover, the game contains enough content to keep you busy for a while. Once you're done with the relatively short story mode, there are the Character episodes, the Arcade Quest mode and the excellent Ghost Battles to keep you fighting. And if you feel like you're good enough, take a step into multiplayer. It remains to be seen how the battle pass will take shape and how new fighters will be introduced. But after an absence of almost 10 years, Tekken is back, and these are golden times for fans of the genre.

Bahnsen Knights is a game in which you have to maintain concentration more than ever. If you don't do that, death will soon be near and you will soon no longer follow the storyline. However, even if you skip all the dialogues, you will notice that you can still find a way through the conversations, even though that defeats the entire purpose of the game. The choices are not really very deep, and you can quickly do a retry and choose the next choice. However; If you keep your mind on it, the story of this game is quite interesting. I was through it in just over an hour and the credits were already rolling by. In addition, I did not really enjoy the gameplay of the game (i.e. the mini-games).

It is clear that The Last of Us Part II on the PlayStation 4 was already great. With its 20 hours of campaign, we are also very spoiled in terms of content. It is actually a miracle that they have only now released a remaster for the PS5, but I understand that they wanted to have part 1 fully ported first. The graphic improvements are good, but not always consistently sublime, the DualSense features are certainly an improvement and the extra content and game mode No Return are also fun for enthusiasts. The Last of Us Part II could hardly fail if you consider that they played it fairly safely and kept the general basis 90% the same. In addition, the game really doesn't seem to have any bugs. With the many hours you can put into the story mode, and yes, it is still great even if you have already played it on the PlayStation 4, you will not waste any money with this Remaster. However; If you have seen the game on the PS4 and have no desire to experience this great adventure again on the PS5, then the extra additions probably won't convince you enough to justify this purchase. It makes a difference that an upgrade will cost you a lot less, almost nothing in fact, so the advice should be clear!

The upbeat music, colorful levels, and cute characters can give players the wrong impression of what they're in for. The game contains a large number of areas, levels and items to collect and you will have to collect them all to unlock all the levels. Unfortunately there is a big but. The game quickly becomes frustratingly difficult and you regularly have to replay large parts of the levels to find all the collectibles. The game seems to focus on the target group that grew up with these Nintendo 64 and Playstation 1 platformers. Raccoo Venture is really not child's play and that is a missed opportunity.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a difficult game to judge. The world of Pandora is ideal for an open world game and the conflict between the Na'vi and the RDA ensures that there is plenty to do for the player. The game looks great and the soundtrack from the film is also present here. The moments where all elements click together perfectly give the player an extremely rich gaming experience. Unfortunately, the game contains a lot of different elements that you as a player have to discover with a lot of frustration. The first ten hours are therefore more complicated than necessary. Even the menu to view your current collection of materials looks complicated. But the moment you have seen the many elements and know where everything is, you start to understand the game better. That's when you really start to enjoy this game. It is such a shame that you first have to work hard in this game.

Fearmonium is a Metroidvania with a pretty heavy theme. The depressing themes in combination with the gloomy environments are not for everyone. It might even put off those who are interested. On the other hand, it has become a very original game in the genre that I would like to recommend to everyone without too many caveats. Even if you have a phobia of clowns.

Kingpin: Reloaded is about 4 hours long with about an hour per chapter. You can also get quite lost in the levels where everything looks a bit the same. However, the game itself plays quite well, although the performance of the game is very disappointing. The game itself is reasonably playable, but noticing glitches during the action in a game that is almost 25 years old is simply not possible. It makes the game tough to digest. The quality of the game is therefore quite poor.

Dredge itself is a great game that will give you at least ten hours of delicious H.P. Lovecraft gives horror. The life of a sailor and the dangers at sea in your small fishing boat fit perfectly with a horror theme. The gameplay is simple, so you can take your time. The atmosphere, the story and the presentation are rock solid. You really can't go wrong here. The expansion will merge invisibly with the rest of the game for new players. This will not be the case for players who have already completed the game. The best experience will be when you restart the game and Dredge is definitely worth going through in full again.

There's something here that could have been brilliant. With just a little more time in the oven to give more variety in missions, a more interesting skill set and more different enemies, this could have been a fun game to play with three friends. Now it is a game that is fun for one mission and then quickly forgotten.

The expansion is therefore not the right start for a new player. As a new player, it is best to just start with the basic game. This is an expansion aimed at players who have completed the basic game completely. This way you can take all your characters with you and it feels less like you're getting a generic start. You understand how all the systems work and the main story of Tales of Arise is wonderfully epic. Beyond the Dawn has little added value, except to extend the playing time a little more.

The single player is extremely lousy, with the terrible open combat missions, and few fans will be really happy with the new zombie mode. Although the multiplayer plays wonderfully, it consists solely of old maps with a slightly modernized look. You can definitely have fun in the online part, it even plays better than the previous part. But in terms of content, Modern Warfare 3 is the absolute low point of the series in recent years and certainly not worth the full price.

After about 7 hours of playing you will have reached the end of the game and actually after about 2 hours you will notice that the monotony and flat gameplay starts to seem quite the same. The level design is quite nice here and there, but you are actually constantly jumping, dashing and shooting. The latter in particular starts to get really annoying at a certain point. Do not get me wrong; The Smurfs 2 is certainly not a bad game, and may be quite challenging for real young people to master, but otherwise it plays well and doesn't do anything terribly wrong.

Kill It With Fire VR tries to make a full game out of a simple idea: crushing spiders. Unfortunately, after a few levels you'll find yourself losing interest due to the repetitive gameplay. The extra assignments are fun, but do not mean that you have to do the same thing several times. The mediocre graphics, physics and controls work against this game and the new PSVR2 hardware unfortunately cannot disguise this. This is a VR game that was fun as one of the first VR games, but now it's disappointing when you compare it to the newer VR titles on the market.

The longer I played this game the more frustrated I became. For the first hour I was still smiling through the presentation. However, it ended with swearing. The game is not completely unplayable, but it would have been better if a number of problems were resolved and the game had a release around Christmas. A shame, because at this time when it gets dark early, a good Christmas game would have been a lot of fun.
