DOOM: The Dark Ages arrives with the obligation to keep a very important franchise afloat with a release that is very different from its two predecessors but delivers on its promises. It brings its own proposal and executes it masterfully, but at the same time it feels strange. It's not that it needs more time in the oven, but it lacks seasoning; a spicy touch. It feels restrained, afraid to give everything it has to offer. It's DOOM, but at half-mast.

Wings of Endless, the action RPG from Uruguayan studio Isoca Games, offers a blend of action, exploration, and nostalgia that fans of the genre won't want to miss. Despelote is a very unique narrative that appropriates the language of the video game world to write a poem to childhood. Personally, I believe that those of us who grew up playing video games are gradually connecting much more with this type of narrative that puts us in a contemplative place. A place that invites us to rediscover ourselves and be amazed by the encounter with those things that we had long since given up for lost.

Bethesda brings us an unexpected surprise with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, a remaster that feels like a remake that takes us back 20 years in time. We still have characters acting erratically, surreal dialogues, and some repetitive tasks. Still, the main victory of this installment is bringing a 20-year-old game to the present day, one that is very enjoyable beyond nostalgia.

Bend Studio's post-apocalypse gets a second chance to shine thanks to Days Gone Remastered, a version that does enough to enhance the enjoyment of the game. It has some of the most hateful and horrifying characters I've ever seen. And no, I'm not talking about the Freakers, but the humans who survived the ‘end of the world’. Behind some trite and somewhat exaggerated dialogue lies an interesting critique of the social fabric, the concept of good and evil, and, in particular, the ‘every man for himself’ mentality that feels more relevant today than ever. Days Gone never set out to change the history of video games, but rather to offer a good story and a fun world to explore.

Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree offers a picturesque, dark, and dangerous world with a unique atmosphere and gameplay that, despite some drawbacks, is very enjoyable. It's a good game that just needs a little technical polish and a balance between what the game offers and what it requires to complete it 100%. It is a game that offers many hours of entertainment and fun, challenge, and, above all, visual delight. And that's despite the drawbacks that the development team is already gradually correcting through updates.

With a minimalist premise, Shotgun Cop Man offers fast-paced gameplay with simple mechanics where you have to bring Satan to justice with a shotgun. The Last of Us Part II finally arrives on PC with a remastered version that allows us to enjoy a moving story in the best possible way. Anyone who has played it, I recommend watching the series, and if you've already seen it, then play this installment. Let's enjoy the pleasure of participating as spectators in the reconstruction of this world in different languages. These characters will be ours forever, even when age bruises our hands and we can no longer move the joystick.

Pax Augusta is a city builder that offers a historically accurate experience with unique mechanics, but it still needs work to shine in all its glory. It's a shame that the numerous bugs currently present in the game end up marring the experience. Still, I'm sure these issues will eventually be resolved over time. The potential is there, and Roger Gassmann is demonstrating all the passion he feels for his work.

Atomfall seems to offer an experience built around a well-known formula, but at the end of the day, it manages to shake up any expectations with a totally novel approach. Blue Prince, the title from Dogubomb, is much more spectacular than we expected, and thanks to its original mechanics, it has positioned itself as the new benchmark for puzzle video games. Each completed puzzle feeds into others that are even bigger than the one surrounding the mystery of Room 46. The learning curve adapts to our pace and insight, and that's what makes the game so appealing.

Francis Coulombe surprises us with Look Outside, a survival horror RPG that uses a simple premise to construct a disturbing, grotesque, and uncomfortably wonderful experience. Karma: The Dark World is a cinematic adventure that raises several questions in a dystopia that doesn't need cheap tricks to make us feel terror. Pollard Studio offers a slow-paced, cerebral adventure. It's no surprise that its developers took certain elements from quite complex sources with the aim of carefully crafting their project. The atmosphere achieved through its visuals and sound is superb, highlighting the nuances of powerful and delicate musical pieces that only serve to increase the uncertainty.

Mark of the Deep offers a Metroidvania-style adventure with Souls-like combat, resulting in an experience that is both entertaining and enjoyable in equal measure. It is a title worth discovering, as it is one of the best of its kind. Its gameplay loop, which combines combat with Metroidvania-style exploration, is what kept me hooked for almost 30 hours, eager to return to this universe whenever I had the time.
