La Orden del Pixel's Reviews
Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree offers a picturesque, dark, and dangerous world with a unique atmosphere and gameplay that, despite some drawbacks, is very enjoyable. It's a good game that just needs a little technical polish and a balance between what the game offers and what it requires to complete it 100%. It is a game that offers many hours of entertainment and fun, challenge, and, above all, visual delight. And that's despite the drawbacks that the development team is already gradually correcting through updates.

With a minimalist premise, Shotgun Cop Man offers fast-paced gameplay with simple mechanics where you have to bring Satan to justice with a shotgun. It's an unusual and very unique game that offers a highly entertaining experience, both for those who want to spend a few hours jumping around and eliminating demons, and for those looking for a hardcore platformer. DeadToast, instead of betting on something bigger and more ambitious, chose the path of minimalism, giving life to a very fun and adrenaline-filled proposal.

Sacre Bleu, the platformer from Hildring Studio, surprises with a fresh and agile proposal that stands out both for its polished gameplay and for its ability to slow down time at any moment. It makes clever use of bullet time, both in combat and in platforming sections, and constantly challenges without becoming overwhelming. I recommend it for those looking for a good challenge and who aren't afraid to get a little frustrated along the way.

The Last of Us Part II finally arrives on PC with a remastered version that allows us to enjoy a moving story in the best possible way. Anyone who has played it, I recommend watching the series, and if you've already seen it, then play this installment. Let's enjoy the pleasure of participating as spectators in the reconstruction of this world in different languages. These characters will be ours forever, even when age bruises our hands and we can no longer move the joystick.

Pax Augusta is a city builder that offers a historically accurate experience with unique mechanics, but it still needs work to shine in all its glory. It's a shame that the numerous bugs currently present in the game end up marring the experience. Still, I'm sure these issues will eventually be resolved over time. The potential is there, and Roger Gassmann is demonstrating all the passion he feels for his work.

Atomfall seems to offer an experience built around a well-known formula, but at the end of the day, it manages to shake up any expectations with a totally novel approach. On paper, it seems like a generic copy of other big names in the industry, but far from it, it offers a refreshing and innovative experience. It's a title that's best approached with as little information as possible, and its pace and length make it very interesting to experience.

Blue Prince, the title from Dogubomb, is much more spectacular than we expected, and thanks to its original mechanics, it has positioned itself as the new benchmark for puzzle video games. Each completed puzzle feeds into others that are even bigger than the one surrounding the mystery of Room 46. The learning curve adapts to our pace and insight, and that's what makes the game so appealing.

With Commandos: Origins, Claymore Game Studios marks the return to the iconic saga that pioneered the combination of strategy and stealth in a game that lives up to the original trilogy. It is a love letter to the genre, to nostalgia, and to itself. It is a title that treats the franchise and its fans with great respect. A video game that definitely does not reinvent the wheel, but neither does it seek to do so.

South of Midnight, the adventure title from Compulsion Games, offers a fluid experience that uses gameplay as a vehicle to tell an emotional and visceral story like few others. It is an enjoyable, relatively short, and thoroughly enjoyable experience that is highly recommended for any type of player. Compulsion Games' work is a breath of fresh air among so many similar releases, and I eagerly await the studio's next project.

Francis Coulombe surprises us with Look Outside, a survival horror RPG that uses a simple premise to construct a disturbing, grotesque, and uncomfortably wonderful experience. It makes excellent use of its resources to invite us to discover the mystery that lies outside, with decisions that can change the course of events and characters that are as disturbing as they are endearing. All of this is packaged with a grotesque aesthetic that is graphic at times, while at other times leaving things to our imagination.

Karma: The Dark World is a cinematic adventure that raises several questions in a dystopia that doesn't need cheap tricks to make us feel terror. Pollard Studio offers a slow-paced, cerebral adventure. It's no surprise that its developers took certain elements from quite complex sources with the aim of carefully crafting their project. The atmosphere achieved through its visuals and sound is superb, highlighting the nuances of powerful and delicate musical pieces that only serve to increase the uncertainty.

After a long wait, high expectations, and some apprehension, CAPCOM brings us Monster Hunter Wilds, the latest installment in the legendary series that maintains its classic DNA while evolving. CAPCOM has managed to create a title that feels like a playground where veterans of the franchise can experiment, but also an excellent way to invite new players to immerse themselves in this world.

Storybird Studio invites us to save the kingdom from a demon invasion in Beyond the Ice Palace 2, a sequel that took more than 35 years to arrive. It can be an exciting and fun experience for those willing to overlook technical issues and accept some artificial difficulty, such as the lack of a checkpoint in certain sections of the game. Undoubtedly, with a little more polish, it could become a great Castlevania-like game.

Knights in Tight Spaces, Ground Shatter's new work, is a fantastic version of Fights in Tight Spaces that renews the formula while maintaining the essence of the original work. The most remarkable thing is that despite the changes, Ground Shatter manages to maintain the spirit with which it was conceived: to offer combat situations that resemble tactical puzzles that make us feel like geniuses when we solve them.

Mark of the Deep offers a Metroidvania-style adventure with Souls-like combat, resulting in an experience that is both entertaining and enjoyable in equal measure. It is a title worth discovering, as it is one of the best of its kind. Its gameplay loop, which combines combat with Metroidvania-style exploration, is what kept me hooked for almost 30 hours, eager to return to this universe whenever I had the time.

With Songs of Silence, Chimera Entertainment proves that 4X strategy doesn't need multiple mechanics to offer a refreshing, artistically striking experience in the genre. The automatic battle system, even when it can be frustrating at times for not getting the results you want, gives it a unique personality and a gameplay loop with the ability to keep us in this world for hours.

Odd Bug Studio returns with Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter, a sequel that invites us to experience an epic adventure through a story of misfortune, unity, resilience, and revenge. Undoubtedly, the weakest point is the gameplay, which needs polishing, greater fluidity, and versatility. Odd Bug Studio played it safe by returning to the path of Tails of Iron, but it is clear that a revamp is needed for the future.

Avowed is Obsidian's highly anticipated RPG, a fun and immersive title that offers freedom in combat and exploration without neglecting the narrative aspect. Thanks to its captivating story, which unfolds through well-written dialogue and a narrative that always keeps you engaged, it stands out as a great example of the genre. It's a highly recommended experience and proof that Obsidian is still living up to its legacy.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2, the acclaimed title from Insomniac Games, finally arrives on PC, bringing superheroes back to a time when things were simpler and perhaps better. It is an extremely appealing video game, with polished gameplay and a very interesting world to discover. While its technical issues detract from the narrative, it is a very enjoyable video game that breaks with current conventions and the fatigue inherent in open worlds.

PlaySide concludes the development of Age of Darkness: Final Stand by offering a survival RTS that has all the ingredients to keep us hooked for hours. A title with a good level of challenge that offers many hours of gameplay, but still needs some polishing. The strong point is in the survival mode. And that's where the title shines, as it has all the ingredients to keep us hooked from dusk till dawn.
