7.5 / 10.0 - Endless Dungeon
Oct 25, 2023

Endless Dungeon surprises by offering a well thought-out evolution of Dungeon of the Endless. It manages to mix genres and offer multi-faceted gameplay with a certain complexity, but without becoming too heavy or unbearable in co-op. The result is a rogue-lite with a good balance of strategy and action, with a strong tactical touch in single-player and requiring good teamwork and a lot of communication in multiplayer. Either way, it is a game you should try to discover a fresh and innovative game.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is one of the best two-dimensional platformers ever made in the history of video games, and probably the best in the franchise along with the historic Super Mario World. The gameplay constantly surprises, the environments are magnificent, and Nintendo has worked hard to keep the title fresh with its gimmicks and innovations. This is no mere sequel to the New saga, but a fresh start. And also a triumph.

In a revamped version of the first title, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 succeeds in reintroducing a car game that succeeds in its objective of entertaining players with a tried and tested formula and the addition of features that further expand on what we have enjoyed before.

7.4 / 10.0 - Wizard With A Gun
Oct 22, 2023

Wizard with a Gun attempts to innovate the gaming landscape with a rather interesting mixture of genres. Unfortunately, shortcomings in the controls and the handling of the final part of the storyline do not allow it to fully take off. However, should you be looking for an experience to play with a friend, Galvanic Games' first effort could well be for you.

7 / 10.0 - Sonic Superstars
Oct 20, 2023

Sonic Superstars is a platformer that tries to dust off the splendour of the first chapters of Sega's blue hedgehog saga, but some inauspicious level design choices undermine the Tokyo-based production company's intentions. Also to be reviewed is the multiplayer compartment, which deserved more care.

Undoubtedly, Empty Clip Studios did a very good job on the artistic side, restoring this 90s classic with a very clean style that is perfectly faithful to the Gargoyles' animated series. On the other hand, the game is hopelessly outdated in terms of gameplay, structuring itself as a platformer with poor mechanics. All in all, however, it is an enjoyable arcade adventure that will revive the memories of the nostalgic.

8.3 / 10.0 - Sea of Stars
Oct 19, 2023

Sea of Stars is a successful, if not excellent, experiment. The two young protagonists fail to stand out, as does the villain of the tale, but during the journey one meets well-written characters who contribute to an interesting plot. The dynamic turn-based combat system manages to be innovative and keep you engaged without being too repetitive, even if it is not entirely convincing. The art direction is the jewel in the crown of Sabotage Studio's title, thanks to its well-rendered and brightly coloured pixel art. Recommended for those looking for a ‘cozy game’ in which to immerse themselves for some forty hours.

Skull Island: Rise of Kong is a bad title, an obscene glorification of one of cinema's most famous monsters, a video game that is simply unacceptable in every respect. Don't buy it, unless you want to spite yourself or some of your enemies.

7.8 / 10.0 - Scorn
Oct 12, 2023

Scorn is a straightforward work that has no problem showing perverse and crude images. Ebb Software's product is capable of instilling a sense of anguish and unease rarely equalled by other games. The only pity is the absolutely mediocre combat phases and a longevity that is too short, especially for the price at which it is offered.

8 / 10.0 - Cocoon
Oct 6, 2023

COCOON is an adventure of puzzles and discovery, based on a quiet but evocative storyline. The gameplay revolves around a single button-press, but is ingeniously enriched as more complex mechanics are introduced. The artwork is the icing on the cake of a fascinating work.

Fate/Samurai Remant is a decidedly surprising title. It won us over with its mysterious plot and spectacular gameplay, and brings new luster to Kinoko Nasu's historic franchise. It's just a shame for the lack of attention paid to its technical aspects, but in any case we find ourselves faced with an excellent amalgam between a musou and an Action RPG.

With its mix of classic and modern gameplay elements and a story that will take players to the birthplace of the modern Assassin Order, Assassin's Creed Mirage looks to be a fitting tribute for the series' 15th anniversary, and in a particularly fitting way to the saga. After all, this is a completely new game that draws on the genetic memory of its distant ancestors. So metaphysical.

8.8 / 10.0 - Forza Motorsport
Oct 4, 2023

As we expected Forza Motorsport is the definitive racing game. All thanks to a now consolidated gameplay, a crazy technical graphics section and an extreme level of customization that will allow each player to find the configuration suited to their driving style.

Knight Vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur is a good roguelike experience, capable of creating its own path while taking strong inspiration from Hades. However, the title suffers from a lack of general variety, which leads it to be repetitive in the medium to long term. A real shame, considering the potential and artistic skills put into play.

7.3 / 10.0 - PAYDAY 3
Oct 2, 2023

Despite a turbulent and unsuccessful launch, Payday 3 manages to recover well and offers hours of entertainment and study behind every shot, pushing the player and company to improve themselves more and more. Still with some shortcomings, but playable with peace of mind and with the prospect of concrete post-launch support.

With a compelling story, layered characters brought to life by stellar acting, stunning visuals and environments, refined combat, and some of the most varied missions in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty continues CDPR's tradition of offering some of the best add-ons in Always. A noteworthy purchase, especially considering the reasonable price of 30 euros, which is less than half what most triple-A games cost these days.

8.6 / 10.0 - Lies of P
Sep 30, 2023

In the horrifying city of Krat, the puppets that were once at the service of humanity have transformed into killing machines, while a mysterious evil transforms people, devastates and kills. Puppet P is special, as he has the ability to lie: what growth path will he face? What mysteries do the intelligent Geppetto, the enterprising Venigni, the mysterious Sophia and the other citizens of Krat hide? In this reinterpretation of Collodi's classic, the mechanics of souls like are taken up with great effectiveness, while the more original elements remain in the background, not entirely successful. Lies of P remains a very solid action in terms of technical aspects and artistic creation, a "must have" for lovers of the genre.

8 / 10.0 - EA Sports FC 24
Sep 30, 2023

After a wait that hasn't been seen in years, we receive a football title that's really in good shape despite the separation from FIFA. The game has quite a few surprises and manages to entertain the user regardless of the preferred mode, even if some could have received more attention. Ultimately however, we find an updated and more balanced product compared to the recent past.

If you like retro shooters and the atmosphere of Lovecraftian tales is particularly close to your heart, you will like Forgive Me Father. Despite the shallow plot, the game works hard to make us feel like real protagonists of the prose of Providence Solitaire. The comic style is well suited to Byte Barrel's work, and the gameplay of Forgive Me Father is properly entertaining. Now we just have to wait for the new chapter of this horror shooter, since Forgive Me Father 2 is coming out on October 19th!

Bud Spencer & Terence Hill: Slap and Beans 2 is another beautiful homage to the iconic duo of Italian cinema, a fun scrolling fighting game full of references and homages. Too bad only for some flaws in the gameplay, a sign of the fact that for a third chapter (?) there will be some other details to be ironed out. The news, however, is very satisfying.
