Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero represents the definitive title in the saga created by Akira Toriyama. The work done by Spike Chunsoft is truly remarkable, bringing to light a project designed to entertain all fans of the series, allowing them to simulate the epic clashes of the anime thanks to a three-dimensional structure and a vast roster. All this is topped off by sufficiently technical gameplay that allows for dynamic and unpredictable matches. Of course we are not at the levels of other fighting games (Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6 or Dragon Ball: FighterZ itself) but on the other hand the aim of Sparking! Zero is not to have gameplay aimed at the competitive side.

The Patrick Star Game is an open-world adventure designed primarily for children, developed by PHL Collective and published by Outright Games. The game is set in the SpongeBob SquarePants universe and puts Patrick Star at the centre of the action, offering a chaotic and fun experience full of humour typical of the series. Visually colourful and with an attention to detail, the title captures the carefree atmosphere of Bikini Bottom, accompanied by a playful soundtrack and original voices. However, the gameplay, while offering challenges and mini-games, can be repetitive with an unstructured progression. The physics engine is a key element, but not without flaws. Nevertheless, younger gamers will appreciate the freedom it offers and the chaos that comes with it, making The Patrick Star Game an accessible and fun product for its target audience.

The updated version of Predator: Hunting Grounds features the same formula as its counterpart that originally arrived on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The improvements made mainly concern the graphical and technical components, while maintaining almost identical gameplay. That said, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are a worthwhile purchase for fans of the film series. Those who have already tried the original title, however, will not see so many changes as to justify the purchase on current gen.

7.8 / 10.0 - Until Dawn (2024)
Oct 6, 2024

Until Dawn entertained in 2015, it entertains today in the same way. Despite a sometimes naive script and an all-too-intelligible plot, it's a narrative game with the right pace, based on well-curated atmospheres and an excellent cast. The usual problems remain, but Supermassive's title returns today in a remake that refreshes the experience graphically, offering even more expressive character models and striking lighting effects. It is, however, a familiar story, which may not be worth the expense if you expect substantial changes pad in hand. If, on the other hand, you are not familiar with this title (and maybe looking for something to do with friends on Halloween), go ahead and buy it without delay!

7.8 / 10.0 - Dandy Ace
Oct 6, 2024

Dandy Ace perfectly embodies the typical mechanisms of roguelites, focusing on direct, fun and captivating gameplay. The combinations that can be made through the numerous cards present push one to vary one's approach to the adventure more and more. The only pity is a not always excellent artistic compartment and a mechanic that gives too much incentive to skip portions of the game, distorting the genre.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is the franchise's grand farewell to Switch, and perhaps it couldn't get any better than this. Overlooking a few technical issues (the console has clearly reached its limit, someone save the Switch soldier!), Echoes of Wisdom brings with it a renewed wind of opportunity and possibility to the series, winking at the evolution of BOTW and TOTK but still having its own distinct identity and fun gameplay. The perfect blend of new and classic, on which Nintendo could build the future of the series - or at least a branch of it.

On the whole, the expansion does not bring many new features, quite the contrary. Instead, it gives us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a mysterious world and its lore. We finally have a cohesive, hand-created game world again, and no longer one that is procedurally created. Shattered Space certainly deserves a chance, but we remain very dubious about Bethesda's asking price for additional content that lasts no more than 15 hours.

Jyamma Games is a fresh, inexperienced team but certainly full of ideas that we would love to see realised in a more solid and polished product in the future. Enotria: The Last Song is in fact an appreciable first experiment from an artistic point of view, but inevitably entangled in a myriad of problems and imperfections that make the experience confusing and chaotic. Too many flaws to be able to compete head-on with other soulslike like Lies of P or Steelrising. It remains a curious product that we would recommend to fans of the genre.

Sovereign Kaos is an expansion that adds a lot of content, making Mortal Kombat 1 a more complete game than at launch. The new campaign remains on a high level and the additional content greatly increases the replayability of the game.

7.4 / 10.0 - Tiebreak
Sep 26, 2024

TIEBREAK: Official Game of the ATP and WTA represents a significant advancement in tennis gaming, thanks to its detailed graphics and official ATP and WTA licenses, which offer a rich roster of athletes and tournaments. The gameplay, a balance between simulation and arcade, engages players with a strategic and rewarding experience. However, the title suffers from technical problems. Stiff animations and sound bugs compromise its fluidity, while the online mode is limited by sparsely populated servers and latency issues, reducing the competitive experience. Despite these critical issues, TIEBREAK has the potential to become a reference simulation. If Big Ant Studios fixes the flaws with future updates, the game could establish itself in the genre. At the moment, however, it remains promising but still far from rivaling established titles such as Top Spin.

For all fans of Persona 3: Reload, Episode Aigis is a rather interesting piece of content worth buying, but for those who couldn't quite get into the basic experience, this DLC is avoidable. It is an expansion that struggles to justify its existence, a task that seems impossible considering the spectacular ending of Persona 3: Reload, but it is not without merit.

The PC version of the sixteenth Final Fantasy chapter is the best currently available, but leaves a bitter taste in the mouth due to a barely sufficient quality of the porting and some unexpected shortcomings in a saga that had always represented excellence on a technical level.

God of War Ragnarok arrives on PC after almost two years, and does so in the best possible way. The porting is excellent, option-rich and very light. It's hard to tear yourself away from the adventures of Kratos and Atreus, both for the deep storyline and for gameplay that never ceases to amuse. It's just a shame about that one login too many...

Epic Mickey Rebrushed is a successful remake, a production that manages to restore lustre to a game that was appreciated in its time but also characterised by many macroscopic flaws. Purple Lamp has managed to limit many of these problems, in some cases fixing them, even if some of them are inevitably linked to the title's concept. However, the work done is enough to give Epic Mickey a new chance, which now shines brighter than ever before with its distinct creativity.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a title that all fans of the historic first instalment will want to catch up on. The work done by Capcom is indeed noteworthy, managing to improve on gameplay from almost twenty years ago. All this is topped off by an excellent graphic restyling, thanks to the implementation of the RE Engine. Since this is a Remaster, there remain a few problems with the original work on which no changes have been made. The budget price of EUR 49.99 makes Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster an attractive title for anyone looking for a zombie-themed game they can enjoy without too many frills.

7.8 / 10.0 - Iron Meat

Retroware's latest effort was created for those who want the classic run-n-gun experience. It doesn't innovate, but it convinces with its exuberant apocalyptic environments that allow the player to enjoy the frenetic pace of the genre, thus offering a title that is fun until the end.

8.5 / 10.0 - The Plucky Squire
Sep 21, 2024

The Plucky Squire is a game that can surprise without necessarily reinventing the wheel. The ruse of the book as the basis for Jot's adventures is a great idea and paves the way for interesting game mechanics. The All Possible Futures have made good use of these possibilities, offering a fresh and entertaining title.

4.1 / 10.0 - Pneumata
Sep 20, 2024

Pneumata had a lot of potential, but was badly exploited by the developers, launching an unoriginal game on the market. It was meant to be a survival horror, but is limited to horror settings, failing to blend everything well. The title has too many flaws to stand alongside Resident Evil, and despite the use of Unreal Engine 5, it fails to convince.

Broken Sword - Secret of the Templars: Reforged is more than just a remake: it is a true work of restoration, allowing the adventures of George Stobbard to be rediscovered in the way Charles Cecil conceived them in 1996. The story, despite almost thirty years since its release, is still perfectly enjoyable, and the new gameplay modes allow Secret of the Templars to keep up with the latest productions.

6.1 / 10.0 - Funko Fusion
Sep 16, 2024

Funko Fusion had enormous potential. The numerous licences, coupled with the experience of the former Traveller's Tales developers, promised to deliver a game that was both impressive and above all fun. However, the current technical problems and not-so-satisfying gameplay relegated it to oblivion, justifying its purchase only to those who are strong fans of the brands included in the work.
