8.7 / 10.0 - Reanimal
Feb 11, 2026

Reanimal is the best possible comeback for Tarsier Studios. The development team has succeeded in the difficult task of building on the legacy established with Little Nightmares and creating a solid, engaging project that has been expanded in virtually every aspect. Although it does not revolutionise the concept too much, the new effort is capable of capturing the player's attention from the very beginning, thanks to its exquisite aesthetics and masterful technical aspects.

We started playing the new Monster Train 2 DLC, Destiny of the Railforged, expecting something that probably wouldn't impress us that much, but we were surprised by how difficult it was to stop playing. And that's exactly what we've always loved about Monster Train. Of course, now we have to relearn a lot of things, because there are so many new features and so many new modes that it takes a while to digest everything. But it's a great feeling. For the price it's selling for, it's a real bargain, so try it for yourself.

8.5 / 10.0 - Nioh 3
Feb 4, 2026

Nioh 3 is the most ambitious and comprehensive instalment in the series. Team Ninja has managed to evolve the formula without betraying its essence, introducing significant new features such as open fields and dual combat styles. It is a demanding, at times ruthless game that makes no concessions and requires dedication. But for those who love hardcore action RPGs, Nioh 3 represents one of the most profound, rewarding and rich experiences currently available.

My Hero Academia: All's Justice is a solid, rich game, which is probably the best video game adaptation of My Hero Academia to date, but which remains strongly anchored to its nature as a tie-in. A must-have for fans, compelling for arena fighter enthusiasts, less impressive for those looking for a truly revolutionary experience.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a great starting point for Square Enix's IP. HexaDrive's work is convincing in almost every way, thanks to a revamped and captivating aesthetic and a nearly complete customization of the experience. The only disappointments are some overly wordy sections and a soundtrack that becomes slightly repetitive towards the end of the adventure. Nonetheless, the Japanese studio's new effort is a must-buy for fans of the franchise and highly recommended for all fans of turn-based RPGs.

7.5 / 10.0 - I Hate This Place
Jan 28, 2026

I Hate This Place is a solid and recognisable horror game that stands out thanks to its strong visual identity and constantly oppressive atmosphere. It is not a game that focuses on action or spectacle, but on tension, survival and sensations. Some limitations in pacing and combat prevent the title from reaching higher levels, but the experience remains compelling and is especially recommended for those who enjoy slower, more reflective horror games.

7.5 / 10.0 - Code Vein II
Jan 27, 2026

Code Vein returns with a brand new story and new characters, expanded maps and layered, variable gameplay, all waiting to be explored. The freedom derived from the multitude of equipment, upgrades, abilities, statistics, and combat styles could be fun, but it could also be overwhelming due to dense, confusing, and inaccessible menus. Similarly, the unpolished technical aspects suggest a title that tried to be too daring, getting tangled up in a stuttering execution. Code Vein 2 is a game to be taken with a pinch of salt, which we recommend only to the most passionate fans of the action genre with strong “Souls-like” mechanics, lovers of Japanese-style high fantasy stories and those who don't shy away from challenges.

8 / 10.0 - Pathologic 3
Jan 27, 2026

Pathologic 3 marks the arrival of the third chapter in a unique saga, one that will be remembered not so much for its refined gameplay, but for its decidedly memorable storytelling and narrative style. Its gruesome atmosphere confronts us with contemporary dilemmas and a horror we can relate to.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is a monumental conversion on Nintendo Switch 2: the perfect way to enjoy a truly mammoth video game, capable of reworking one of the best games ever in a modern key, with some new and perhaps even controversial aspects. It's a shame about the price: after all these years since its launch, one might have expected a substantial discount.

Memories in Orbit is a bold and successful attempt to bring something new to the world of Metroidvania games. If you are looking for a real challenge and a work of art that hides secrets around every corner, don't hesitate to give it a try. The gameplay is impressively solid, and the art design, inspired by the work of French comic book artist Moebius, is undoubtedly the most striking positive aspect of MIO. There is some excessive lengthiness in the exploration phases, but these are flaws that can be expected from a debut work.

Trails Beyond the Horizon marks a new chapter in The Legend of Heroes saga, as well as the 20th anniversary of Nihon Falcom's JRPG saga. Some questions raised in previous episodes will be answered, but at the same time, new mysteries will keep the plot intriguing. The gameplay is solid and fun, and the developers' experience is evident. Unfortunately, despite an excellent PC port, the graphics are inferior to those of the remake of the first chapter of Trails in the Sky released in September, and there is no Italian translation. However, these are negatives that fans of the saga will certainly be willing to overlook, given the usual high quality of the saga's writing.

Tombi! 2: The Evil Swine Return Special Edition is a nostalgic venture that, like the first instalment, brings a legend of the past to PS5. Although the porting work has been carried out with a certain degree of laziness, the small additions in terms of mechanics greatly enhance the modern-day experience. Needless to say, those who lived through the late 1990s will not be able to resist returning to attack evil pigs, but for everyone else, the approach may be a little more difficult, given the age of the title.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition was, remains, and will continue to be a must-have role-playing game. What's more, if you own the Switch 1 version, this return to Switch 2 is completely free. Got that, Nintendo?

7 / 10.0 - Sleep Awake
Dec 21, 2025

Sleep Awake is a narrative horror game that differs from the classics of the genre. The title from Blumhouse Games almost entirely abandons the jump scare system, leaving room for a psychedelic backdrop in which the paranoia of falling into a state of semi-consciousness creates a state of constant anxiety. A game that, despite being lacking in terms of gameplay in the strict sense, is enjoyable thanks to the atmosphere it conveys.

8 / 10.0 - Skate Story
Dec 15, 2025

Skate Story is an evocative game that combines skateboarding mechanics with a unique audiovisual experience. Its music is perfectly integrated with the gameplay, enhancing every trick and every line with emotional charge. The skateboarding is responsive and forgiving, but still offers some challenges for those who seek them. A must-play for fans of skateboarding games, artistic indie titles, or simply those who appreciate when music and gameplay blend together harmoniously, Skate Story is an experience to be savoured.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is a work that manages to captivate players with the timeless charm of discovery and the atmospheric design that made the series immortal... but with various “modern” concessions that have perhaps simplified some sections of the game a little too much. The introduction of an outdated open-world hub in the desert and the repetitive collection mission associated with it are burdens that significantly weigh down the pace and flow of exploration. Beyond therefore sits halfway between a perfectly preserved tradition and a not entirely successful innovation. It's a magnificent game to look at, fun and technically stunning, but it can't shake off the nagging feeling that it tried to be something immense without quite succeeding.

6.5 / 10.0 - She's Leaving
Dec 14, 2025

She's Leaving is a survival horror game that focuses entirely on an original and realistic concept. The forensic mechanics and well-told story set the title apart from the crowd, especially for those who are passionate about true crime and investigations. However, repetitive and unpolished gameplay limits its potential, preventing it from reaching higher levels. Nevertheless, the production shows that Blue Hat Studio has valid ideas: with greater care in execution, the studio's future could hold even more interesting surprises.

Terminated 2D: No Fate is a perfect tribute to the film adaptation of Terminator, as well as to the pixel art video games released in the 1990s. Those who want to relive the events of Terminator 2 will find No Fate to be an arcade title ready to throw you into the fight against Skynet. Probably, with a few more mechanics, the title developed by Bitmap Bureau could have really left its mark.

Assassin's Creed: Shadows is a good title that manages to fix some of Valhalla's problems... but fails to truly rewrite a formula that already seemed tired in its second instalment (Odyssey). Despite this, while not a memorable experience, the game world is vast and visually interesting, and there are many hours of gameplay: if you are a big fan of these experiences, you will be satisfied. It also looks great on Switch 2.

7.3 / 10.0 - A.I.L.A
Dec 6, 2025

A.I.L.A is a game of two halves: the first half promises an intriguing and compelling narrative experience, with varied gameplay and an immersive world, while the second half tends to fall back on more conventional solutions and loses some of its initial charm. Despite this, the game shines thanks to its original concept, thought-provoking moral choices and engaging art style, showcasing the potential and risks of artificial intelligence applied to a horror entertainment context. It may not be a masterpiece destined to compete with the great classics, but it represents a significant and interesting step forward for the independent gaming scene.
