White Day: A Labyrinth Named School's cult classic status definitely doesn't come by accident. The game brings with it a unique plot, filled with elements from cultures that, despite being extremely rich, are rarely used to their full potential in the gaming world. Its nature as a game from 2001 remains evident in its slightly dated level design that presents a number of twists and turns that are a little more than I would call enjoyable.

Due to its simplicity and chaotic moments, the game is indeed very fun to play with friends and will certainly please the most assiduous fans of the series with its fanservice and charm. However, the notable lack of content and repetition mean that Kirby’s Dream Buffet does not stand on its own and becomes an experience that I cannot see myself returning to in a few weeks.

PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC is not a GREAT remake. In many ways I feel it leaves something to be desired, not only when compared to the original game, but also when you look at the more modern 3D platform experiences, even another remakes from from the same era. However, It still has some charm, pac-man is very nice to control, and this is a game that is especially appealing to people who are still learning to play video games, but overall the level design does not do justice to its gameplay, which needed more variety to be fully explored.

Given the series' longevity, it's natural for fans of other Gundam audiovisuals to be captivated by the game's premise. However, what happened to me was quite the opposite. My knowledge of the series is limited to the beloved Gundam Wing and a glimpse of the occasional series available on video streaming services. But during my playthrough, I encountered a series with even more nuance, touching on themes rarely explored in mass-market manga, such as politics and what it means to be human. The dialogue and original Japanese voice acting are so captivating that I'll be one of those who do the opposite. Now that I've finished playing, I'll most likely seek out more knowledge of this long-running series to better understand the entire universe. Bandai Namco has nailed it with a game that provides fun for both longtime fans and newcomers, who will enjoy many hours of fun with SD Gundam Battle Alliance.

All in all, Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 3 is still a package that falls short of what it could have offered, just like the other two. There are several other similar treatments on the Nintendo Switch that do better than this. However, in terms of the games, I think they were the right choices. Although there are reservations, for an avid fan of Nippon Ichi Software's works, this is certainly a great package in the end.

8 / 10.0 - Cult of the Lamb
Aug 27, 2022

Cult of the Lamb would work perfectly if it were just a game focused on managing the cult, without exploring the dungeons. We must worry about all aspects of the cult: listening to the followers' requests, decorating the place to make them happier, getting them to pray, work, sleep, give them gifts, bury the dead, arrest the rebels to indoctrinate them, take care of a harvest, clean, etc. And all of this – believe me – is extremely addictive.

In sum, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Burst Forth!! Choro-gon ☆ Breath is a generic low-budget shoot'em up. Even though it offers a good challenge, the title is below the quality standards the market expects nowadays. It still offers fun for those who love the genre a lot and some good illustrations in the gallery for the manga and anime fans, but these will hardly keep the player entertained for long.

I'm still not able, and maybe I never will be, to pinpoint what makes a game memorable. What I can try to explain, on the other hand, is what makes Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation -The Endless Seven-Day Journey- a title that will remain in my heart. Its presentation, both visually and sonically, is simply sublime, with memorable frames for each screen, providing the player with a very unique perspective of the world created by the developers. The characters are captivating and comical, making us interested in their demands, and making us happy with each objective achieved.

6.5 / 10.0 - Digimon Survive
Aug 18, 2022

Digimon Survive presents an interesting proposition. The story is good, the technical aspects are good, and everything works just fine. Even the Nintendo Switch's touchscreen is quite useful. However, all the features were poorly implemented. Do I recommend it? Yes, the story is interesting and it has a cool choice-based system. Is it worth it? No, it's tiring and frustrating.

5.5 / 10.0 - Dungeon Munchies
Aug 12, 2022

In the end, the impression that I have is that for every positive point, there seem to be at least two negatives. I'm not saying the game is bad altogether. Let's just say it doesn't appeal to everyone. Perhaps the game works better if we savor it slowly, returning to it sporadically to tackle a dungeon or two.

9 / 10.0 - Live A Live
Aug 6, 2022

I must say, LIVE A LIVE is an unique JRPG that oozes creativity, charm, and amazing music. Whether you're a fan of the genre or not, this game can be a great experience, it has several short stories that are unique and memorable, a very beautiful art style that made me use the Nintendo Switch's screenshot button much more than in most other games, a killer soundtrack that can always be heard through the Jukebox in the menu, and a very satisfying final chapter. The only point that I believe is not so well explored is its combat, which, despite being very attractive to those who are not used to RPG games, is only really explored to its full potential on a few occasions, especially in the end of the game, while in most common combats during the characters individual stories, it can feel quite monotonous for those who like an extra challenge.

Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony is an interesting game that reminds us of a series that many people want to see back. Despite being short and lacking in extra content, the game is still fun and the mix of 2D platforming elements with bullet hell offers a challenge that will please those who like to improve their skills.

With a development team known for delivering great experiences, Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 is another great game produced by Inti Creates. Featuring a cool story, good character interactions, and fun, easy-to-master gameplay, the game is pure action and, despite being short, has plenty of incentives for multiple playthroughs.

The KLONOA Phantasy Reverie Series is the perfect way to not only introduce these two classic games to new fans, but also to allow old fans to replay them in a more accessible and polished format. These are two competently crafted remasters, free from notable game design issues, and represent the Klonoa franchise's hope of staying alive. This represents a unique experience, one that no other franchise to date has been able to replicate, and one that anyone with even the slightest interest in platformers, whether 2D or 3D, should give a try.

Super UFO Fighter has a very nice presentation, its single player mode has charismatic characters, fun dialogues, even though they get boring quickly, the gameplay concept is really interesting and fun too, making you have good laughs while playing with a friend, but it lacked a little more content to explore its concepts better and not to fall into repetition after about an hour of gameplay.

Exploration is enjoyable and rewarding. New weapons, items, and abilities appear at the right time, with context. There's double jump, folks! It can't be bad. Regarding exploration, here's a caveat: this is the first time I've enjoyed a water level in a game. Other than that, the combat is great, with responsive (customizable) controls and a very democratic challenge. Just play it!

7.5 / 10.0 - Wreckfest
Jul 5, 2022

Wreckfest is a fun game that stands out among its rivals for offering plenty of destruction and beautiful visuals for Nintendo's platform. With plenty of events for players to participate in, quick races, and simple gameplay, the game is perfect for those who don't have much experience or want something to pass the time.

The game as a whole successfully carries on the legacy of its predecessors and further expands one of the best-made RPG worlds I've ever had the pleasure of exploring. With an admirably consistent story and character writing, excellent pacing, complex and fun gameplay, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes manages to go well beyond any expectations I had. It also manages to maintain a good frame rate at all times and ensure the visual quality of its older brother. It's a very easy recommendation for fans of the genre, and also for fans of Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

7.5 / 10.0 - Sonic Origins
Jul 2, 2022

A perfect way to introduce the blue hedgehog to a new generation, Sonic Origins is a great package. Offering some of the character's best games, some extra challenges and the chance to learn more about the hero's story, it is highly recommended for new fans. Veterans will also be pleased with the best way to play the games on modern consoles.

The puzzles are basic but well-crafted, connecting the setting to the characters' psyches and providing clues with intriguing puzzles. The visuals are quite pleasing, and the voice acting is quite competent, though it can be exhausting during the explanatory moments, when the characters can barely catch their breath for the lore dump sequences. Finally, there's an out-of-place shot-'em-up, which can at least be enjoyable when you are exhausted of reading.
