Game Revolution's Reviews

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution definitely skews toward the hardcore fan that has kept up with the card game over the past decade, but its campaign still offers a lot for those that dropped out after the original series or are interested in seeing what’s up with 5D’s or ZEXAL.

While Yakuza 3 definitely feels a bit dated from a gameplay perspective, its storytelling has stood the test of time.

It isn’t often that a game truly succeeds as art, but every part of Oninaki goes back into its core motif and that’s why it is an essential action RPG.

In Dicey Dungeons, everything is already on the table. It’s a highly replayable game that you can pick up for short sessions whenever the moment strikes.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is a great arcade space shooter with a lot of style. Unfortunately, it lacks a bit in substance, and expanding the various systems and lore would have taken it from a good game to a great game. However, Outlaw does fill a niche and is an excellent space arcade shooter.

Hopefully, Caligari Games can learn from this and make something better in the future but this is one gigantic miss and perhaps one of the worst games of the year.

An abridged telling of the story up to Shadowbringers when you use a Tales of Adventure would go a long way towards smoothing the process. As of right now, I can’t recommend Shadowbringers as a direct starting point for Final Fantasy 14. Instead, play through the base content a bit and get a feel for it. You’ll thank yourself later.

Ultimately, your enjoyment of Metal Wolf Chaos XD will come down to how much you are willing to stick with some archaic design choices in order to see more of the ridiculous story and the few levels that do hold up.

Despite its flaws, Lightbearer is praiseworthy for what it brings to the table. It’s a wonderful halfway point between full-on walking sims like Gone Home and murderous first-person shooters.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a fun beat ’em up with a wide variety of unique heroes to choose from, though stumbles when it comes to offering players more than the basics.

Intentions to do something different are appreciated, but the way these additions sabotage the previously pristine core mechanics will only make your blood boil instead.

While many of the annoying glitches and wonky AI will hopefully get patched out of Madden NFL 20 there still isn’t a good reason to recommend it if you have purchased any recent years of the game.

Nothing from the weird upgrade change to the technical glitches stops Redeemer from being enjoyable. It’s a solid brawler that hits hard and delivers a fun action movie good time for a few hours.

Senran Kagura: Peach Ball is briefly enjoyable, but is bogged down by a lack of things to do aside from skipping through tedious dialogue. Senran fans may find themselves content with the ways you can, ahem, interact with its cast, but for the rest of us this is a passably decent pinball game and little else.
