Forza Motorsport is fine, just fine, and that's about it. It squeaks by with the same dependable racing experience that, at this point, is starting to feel stale.

Detective Pikachu Returns is a slight but charming mystery game for younger audiences. It won't last you a long time, and the graphics are plain at best, but it's still a light and breezy time that could be much worse. Shame about that price tag, though.

Star Ocean: The Second Story R isn't just a terrific remake of a classic title, it's a revitalization of a franchise that at some point lost its way. With gorgeous graphics, a killer soundtrack, and a charming cast, Star Ocean: The Second Story R is a brilliant return to one of the original PlayStation's great triumphs.

The Avatar movies aren't original, to begin with, but it's still a disappointment to see their potential wasted on such a derivative Far Cry expansion. It's a visual treat to explore Pandora. What a shame the gameplay is duller than a thousand years of cryo-sleep.

WarioWare: Move It! is one of those games that's very difficult to rate. It's fantastically entertaining and by far the best WarioWare since Wii's Smooth Moves, but unfortunately the game has so little content for single players that it's quite hard to recommend for 50-euro price tag. But as you probably guessed, the multiplayer is as great as ever.

I'd love to say that Cities: Skylines 2 is everything we could have hoped it would be, but right now it's more like a blueprint of an idea rather than a finished product. I'm sure it looks amazing to the architect, but the rest of us will have to deal with the broken mechanics and lackluster performance until the promises of a better tomorrow come to pass.

Especially the second and third entry in the series has aged surprisingly well, and for newcomers, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 is definitely a collection worth exploring (if purchased from a bargain bin) and an important piece of gaming history. Even for those who played them before, it’s probably nice to hear that these beloved games are more or less intact. And the convenience is certainly worth the money – digging out a PlayStation 2 or 3, messing with emulators, or even hunting down the MGS HD Collection online certainly won't excite everyone. But for all the others – it makes no sense to buy this collection (at least not at full price), if you already own the original games, the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, or the Legacy Collection released exclusively for PlayStation 3. You've been warned.

A dark and twisted vision that mixes Hayao Miyazaki, Isaac Asimov, and Fables into a spellbinding whole, Lies of P won't set the world on fire with its clumsy gameplay mechanics, but the atmosphere and story are second to none.

Total War: Pharaoh shifts the series' focus more toward grand strategy, emphasizing political maneuvering, resource management, and societal stability over battlefield tactics. While its depth in governance and diplomacy is impressive, its combat mechanics feel familiar, and its similarities to Total War: Troy may leave some players wanting more innovation.

Alan Wake 2 is a mind-bending psychological horror masterpiece that weaves a multi-layered metanarrative with eerie atmosphere and cinematic storytelling. While its combat remains familiar, the game’s surreal twists, Finnish humor, and stunning presentation make it one of the year’s most unforgettable experiences.

Sonic Superstars is a genuinely frustrating creation. It's basically a decent Sonic game, and by no means the worst entry in the series, as it includes some solid ideas here and there and can be a really fun platformer at its best. However, at its weakest, it is an extremely frustrating experience, and everything reeks of being blend with lack of imagination. It just can't be recommended as a full-price release, even though it does have some decent content.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged improves moderately on its predecessor in every aspect. At the same time, it's fair to say that as a sequel, it plays it very safe and doesn’t shake up the formula much, which might be a disappointment for some. On the other hand, when the driving itself is this enjoyable, does it really matter? If you've already played the first game thoroughly, you can’t go too wrong with picking up the sequel!

Poorly balanced, janky, confusing, and simply not fun, Lords of the Fallen is a prime example that just because you can make a Dark Souls clone doesn't mean you should.

I've heard people calling Assassin's Creed Mirage a filler game, with the resources behind it somehow being diverted from the upcoming 'main series' titles. I personally wouldn't see it that way at all, as I view Mirage more as a much-needed alternative while waiting for the next big thing.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy – the modern-day counterpart to Blizzard’s The Lost Vikings – is an absolutely brilliant puzzle-platformer and a must-buy for anyone even remotely interested in the genre, with or without the Finnish flag coloured goggles. Prior knowledge of Trine isn’t necessary either, as the story is easy to follow even for newcomers, and overall, it’s undoubtedly the most polished entry in the series.

Mortal Kombat 1 is both a new beginning and a celebration of everything Kombat. It's a surprisingly fun and engaging action film where you get to play the best parts. The new game modes bring little to the table, but the main campaign is as fun as ever.

There is no reason for collective concern, however, as EA Sports FC 24 looks and feels very familiar – for better or worse – despite of losing the FIFA license.

Synapse is one of the first games to showcase what VR on a home console can be. It's fast-paced, inventive, and visually stunning. Sadly, it's not much more than that, as the repetitive gameplay can't keep up with the technical splendor. It's fine, but not the system-seller the PSVR2 needs right now.

Despite technical issues, I have to admit that playing Samba de Amigo: Party Central was simply a blast – and I worked up quite a sweat dancing with my amigos. Nostalgia and that signature Japanese quirkiness are still strongly present in the series, and the song selection works well. Plus, the sensitivity of the motion controls doesn’t significantly detract from the enjoyment.

Starfield delivers an expansive spacefaring adventure filled with endless activities, but its shallowness and rigid quest design prevent it from reaching true greatness. While it captures Bethesda’s signature charm, its release timing against Baldur’s Gate 3 highlights its limitations in depth and player agency.
