Children of Zodiarcs does so much with so little that its only flaw seems to be that it's not as close to perfection as it could be. Nevertheless, fans of the genre are highly advised to try it out, as the inclusion of card-based skills and specialised dices manage to offer a fine example of an SRPG that's original, challenging, and all around fun.

Dungeon Defenders II is the epitome of… nice. It doesn't do anything wrong in particular, but it sure isn't anything exciting, either. It's a somewhat pleasant combination of pure action and tower defence, but it's a combination that not many will choose over the chance to play something less repetitive, less grindy, and more complete.

7 / 10 - Death Squared
Jul 12, 2017

Death Squared is a cocktail of two things that, theoretically, could never become a successful mix. Having said that, and although combining couch gaming and puzzles is a concept that doesn't work as well as intended, SMG Studio handles its unique idea quite alright. As a result, those who'll look past its few flaws will surely have a blast here.

5 / 10 - Flip Wars
Jul 9, 2017

There are some titles that have high replay value despite their simplicity, but Flip Wars is not one of them, as this is nothing but a simple mini-game turned full game. In other words, while this is definitely cheaper, better save that pizza money for Splatoon 2… or pizza.

5 / 10 - Gunscape
Jun 28, 2017

Currently, and, sadly, maybe forever, Gunscape doesn't become what it wants to. Besides the fact that the level editor included (which is, like, half the game) is not as versatile as it should be, the main gameplay mechanics aren't fun. They aren't terrible or anything, but they're also not anything that will make anyone put their [insert old-school FPS] aside.

2 / 10 - SAKeRETSU
Jun 28, 2017

For an RPG that's so damn short, SAKeRETSU turns out to be one the worst of its kind, with battles that are very repetitive and simplistic, and mechanics that simply refuse to work. As for the Game Boy art style, it's definitely nice and all, but style is no substitute for substance.

5 / 10 - Blitzkrieg 3
Jun 26, 2017

Blitzkrieg 3 is Blitzkrieg… but without its tactical approach to the battlefield. It's fast and bombastic, but it lacks the depth that made so many strategy fans love the 2003 original. Even worse, Nivel removed the Early Access label from its product, but "forgot" to actually reflect that in it, leaving behind a flaw-ridden piece of software.

7 / 10 - Tekken 7
Jun 11, 2017

It plays like Tekken, it feels like Tekken, it looks like Tekken… and that's because it is Tekken, therefore, don't go in expecting something new and exciting. Thankfully, that doesn't mean that this isn't a very good fighter, as it's actually one of the most fun and balanced available in the genre, as long as you don't mind its strong mid-'90s 3D fighter vibe.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is an expansion whose additions won't be enough to take this MMO to new heights, but those that are already on board will surely enjoy it, especially if their love for the original trip to Vvardenfell (or Tamriel in general) still burns strong.

7 / 10 - Vanquish
May 29, 2017

Like Bayonetta before it, Vanquish for the PC is, hands down, the best version yet, and maybe even better than Bayonetta in that regard, as the keyboard and mouse control support fits like a glove. As for its gameplay, it's definitely a title that will offer lots of fun to third-person shooter aficionados, as long as its short length and lack of replayability isn't much of an issue.

NEKOPARA Vol.3 is a perfect example of what's wrong with the modern anime and visual novel industry. Instead of offering fanservice as an extra bonus, it uses it as the main dish, and, as a result, will only appease those who are here just for that. Of course, like all fetish objects, reviews and scores don't really matter, so the rule is simply this: In love with nekos? Pay up and have fun. The rest of you can just forget it even exists.

As ecchi visual novels go, LoveKami: Divinity Stage doesn't really do anything that could help it stand out. It is good looking, but also unremarkable; it's light-heartedly sexy and titillating, but doesn't really cater to any particular fetish; and although well-written, it won't really win any awards. In other words: enter only if a big fan of the genre… or if the price drops.

As a game, this is, for the most part, your standard '90s LucasArts adventure: humour, great visuals, wacky solutions to puzzles, and all. It was never a golden classic, but it certainly deserves its place in history, albeit only for the most devoted of genre fans, since it is way too short and easy. As for the remaster at hand, it retains Double Fine's love for its past creations. Long story short: check it out.

Short, easy, and not as good as it could be, but also engrossing, beautiful, and fun, this creepy, narrative-driven puzzle-platformer known as Little Nightmares might not be perfect, but it's also one of those titles that could very well be so with a little more care.

If the fun factor was high enough, Dragon Quest Heroes II's simplicity could easily be tolerated… but it isn't. This is one of the most repetitive hack 'n' slashers, it barely touches its Musou influences, and its storyline is way too lengthy and unexciting for what's on offer. Other than the cocktail of all things Dragon Quest it provides, this can safely be passed by for something much better.

6 / 10 - Late Shift
Apr 18, 2017

For fans of the interactive movie genre, Late Shift is, without a single doubt, a product worthy of its price tag. Those grown tired of the usual flaws of this flavour of games, however, beware, as these make their appearance here too, with choices rarely changing things as much as they should.

Delicious! Pretty Girls Mahjong Solitaire won't win any awards for originality, not even in the super-bloated world of Mahjong solitaire games, yet fans of the genre will enjoy it despite the lack of any extra bells and whistles. Furthermore, the price of the whole package is almost as delicious as the girls in it.

Metal Slug's speed, challenge, and overall fun, as well as the marvellously crafted cartoony visuals that come along with it, have not lost their charm after all these years. Sure, this is not as "complex" as the next in line, but it's still enjoyable and highly recommended for all retro-loving Switch owners.

Has-Been Heroes could be better if it had more depth, far more addictive if it wasn't as repetitive, and, most of all, an unquestionably worthy purchase if the gameplay didn't rely on randomness as much as it currently does so. Long story short: very one-more-try-ish, but also in definite need of some tweaking.

Demetrios: The Big Cynical Adventure disappoints on almost all fronts. It doesn't look or sound good (not even for its über-indie production values), its tiny content is stretched over too many hours, the "puzzles" are either easy, boring, or both, and the core of it all, the toilet humour, just doesn't have what it takes to keep things interesting.
