Planet of Lana is one of the most charming, wonderful and endearing games that you’re going to play this year. It’s a game that most certainly is on your to-do list for 2023 and better still, it’s on Xbox Game Pass. So, go and pick it up already.
Redfall is a fun game at times, but its lack of cinematic storytelling and uninspired open-world gameplay loop struggles to allow me to feel immersed as much as I would have liked. In a nutshell, Redfall is a solid vampiric shooter that lacks the bite required to make this another Arkane classic.
Resident Evil 4 remake is not only a redefined horror, but it’s a remake that has once more asserted itself into the Mount Rushmore of video games.
Even when I know what’s coming, I can’t help but be drawn into the atmospheric tension that had me adore the horror classic of 2008. Dead Space is a prime example of how a remake should be done and unfortunately for you, your neighbours will hear you scream.
Evil West is a fun and charming action-packed shooter of a recently bygone era. If you wanted an alternative take on the wild west, you can’t go much wrong with Flying Wild Hogs' latest offering.
The Devil in Me provides a bloodshed of suspense, horror and fun. It’s the perfect send-off for season one of The Dark Pictures Anthology.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 brings yet another action-packed, high-octane entry that will keep fans entertained for months to come, whether you’re here for the single player or especially for the multiplayer.
God of War Ragnarok is an example of sequel excellence and cements its place among the gaming gods of greatness.
Shadow of Rose is a fantastic stint and offers closure for the Winters family. The Mercenaries is more fun than ever and the third-person perspective offers yet another incentive to play the main campaign. If you’re a fan of Resident Evil Village, the Winter’s Expansion is an essential addition and one that you should pick up now.
It won’t win any Game of the Year awards, but it still has charm. Be the hero that this game needs because Gotham Knights is an underdog story worth experiencing.
Deathloop is charming, enticing and exhilarating. In 2021, Deathloop may have been the PC and PS5 game of the year for now, and now in 2022, it’s the turn of the Xbox.
The Last of Us is still a powerful, hard-hitting story that still punches you in the gut to this very day. This remake isn’t just a classic of yesteryear, but it's equally a modern-day classic of today.
I’d advise going into Saints Row with lowered expectations. If you can do that, Saints Row brings chaotic fun and over-the-top mayhem to the world of Santo Ileso.
Two Point Campus is full of laugh-out-loud moments but has a serious strategic element. It's everything you could ever want from a sequel. I think I’ve found my new favourite management sim!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is one of the most charming, stylish, and fun games I’ve played in years. So, what are you waiting for, go buy it, dude!
If you’re a fan of classic horror movies where dumb teenagers get killed in gruesome ways, you’ll have an absolute bloodbath of a time with The Quarry.
Trek to Yomi is an absolute blast that provides plenty of memorable moments throughout its 4-5 hours main story. Trek to Yomi may be as frustrating as it is rewarding, but it will still be the best £16/$20 you’ll spend this year.
Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles is a charming, satisfying and visually pleasing puzzle platformer, and a unique experience shouldn’t be overlooked.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is not only the best LEGO game of all time, but it’s also the best Star Wars game in years.
Ghostwire: Tokyo had the potential to be a far better game than it ended up being, but in the end, it’s a decent game with moments that shine.
