A very convincing return for one of Relic's more iconic series, that keeps the best features of the previous games while also bringing fresh new ideas that change the way players can play and enjoy Company of Heroes. Will it be the best strategy game of 2023? Only time will tell.

7.5 / 10.0 - Dread Templar
Jan 28, 2023

There have been quite a few boomer shooters in these last few years and to be honest, Dread Templar is not the best of them, falling just a tiny bit short of the likes of Dusk, Amid Evil or Prodeus, but it's still funny and entertaining, especially if you're looking for a classic FPS experience.

5.7 / 10.0 - Crossfire: Legion
Dec 8, 2022

Crossfire: Legion may not be a terrible game but it's not a good one either. Its single-player campaign is entirely forgettable, the three factions are about as generic as they come and gameplay wise it's a bit basic, lacking the depth of other (better) strategy games. Blackbird Interactive has shown better in the past but sadly they didn't seem to be as inspired with this project.

7.5 / 10.0 - Evil West
Nov 21, 2022

Evil West is not the most ambitious game of the year, but can still provide some fun thanks to its solid action gameplay and its many satisfying combat encounters with all sorts of vampires and monsters.

7.5 / 10.0 - Floodland
Nov 14, 2022

Floodland is an intriguing city-builder that manages to be intuitive and also quite complex in its game systems, but sadly it's also filled with many technical hiccups that can slow down (and potentially halt) your progress. The foundation is solid and there is a good game beneath it all, but the game will probably need a couple of patches to really shine.

8.3 / 10.0 - Prodeus
Sep 30, 2022

Almost two years in early access were apparently enough to rough out the edges and Prodeus 1.0 is an intense, fun and satisfying first person shooter.

6 / 10.0 - Diablo Immortal
Jun 27, 2022

Diablo Immortal is a simplified and more accessible version of the series that can still provide hours of mindless fun and entertainment. Sadly, the games suffers in the long run because of all the tedious grinding and the greedy monetization system, making a game experience that starts as very enjoyable much less so as time goes on.

6.8 / 10.0 - Dolmen
May 19, 2022

Dolmen surely has its flaws and is nowhere the quality displayed by From Software in its Souls series, but if you enjoy that formula you can still have some fun hacking and slashing through hordes of enemies.

7 / 10.0 - Eternal Threads
May 18, 2022

Eternal Threads is not the most original or ambitious game, but it still manages to craft an interesting story about time travels and six ordinary characters struggling with their lives.

A solid tactical rpg that offers many satisfying turn-based combats and a fascinating dark fantasy re-imagining of the Arthurian myth.

Lost Valley offers Tactical Adventures the chance to experiment on a few new systems and ideas, some of them are fine, others need more refinement, but if you wanted more of Solasta you'll find that the new DLC definitely delivers on that front.

8.6 / 10.0 - Weird West

Weird West isn't perfect but it's definitely a worthy successor to games like Dishonored and Prey and a great debut title from new team Wolfeye Studios.

7.3 / 10.0 - ELEX II
Feb 28, 2022

8.2 / 10.0 - Expeditions: Rome

8.6 / 10.0 - Age of Empires IV
Oct 25, 2021

Age of Empires IV won't shake the videogame world as much as its famed predecessors once did, but it's still a quality production from Relic Entertainment and a worthy addition to a legendary series of strategy games.
