Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei curiously explores an alternate story inspired by Heike Monogatari. With charismatic characters and a beautiful direction when it comes to graphical representation of the period and combat, Shanao's story is a high quality otome game. Fans of historical visual novels in particular will definitely enjoy the game.

Milky Way Prince — The Vampire Star is a visual novel that stands out in its representation of a complex situation to deal with. Using fantasy elements, it warns [players] about the dangers of abusive relationships and the traps this sort of situation can set for people. Even with little time to the history and some quality of life issues, this is a great example of the possibilities in the media.

Just like the characters use the world of Redo to deal with their frustrations and try their hand at a new chance, The Caligula Effect 2 is a retry on elevating the proposition of the previous game to high quality. The work is successful in doing so, not only offering a good RPG, but an indispensable work to fans of the genre.

Metal Max Xeno Reborn is a fun RPG to explore a post-apocalyptic world with a slightly rudimentary design. However, it doesn't manage to offer an experience of special note beyond the pleasant gameplay. With disposable dialogues and characters, the shallow story development in every aspect and a consistently bad translation make it a journey that doesn't shine. Even so, if the idea of exploring a vast desert with your tank is enough to make you want an RPG, this can be a fun adventure.

Even if Tempest is a solid addition to the growing otome game library on Switch. Focused on the tragic narrative more than the romance, the title shows the efforts of a captivating protagonist to deal with the tragedies around her. Though the gameplay experimentation feels a little too simple and underexplored, its plot is enough to make this game a strong recommendation.

fault - StP - LIGHTKRAVTE is a beautiful visual novel about a young boy discovering his place in the world. The game is satisfying on its own while managing to be a thought-provoking gateway to the franchise's universe. With high graphic quality and a sensitive approach, it is an exemplary title of the genre.

Despite the technical errors, Card Shark manages to fulfill exactly what it set out to do in an exemplary way. It's a seductive cheating game with a unique classic atmosphere. Bearing in mind that this is an experience of performing tricks without worrying about the actual rules of the games themselves, it is definitely worth checking out.

Touken Ranbu Warriors is a Musou-style game that seeks to offer a good gateway to its genre while adapting elements of the swordboys' multimedia franchise. Despite being somewhat simple and easy, especially in its initial missions, the game is competent in offering varied action and an atmosphere that draws attention.

Research and Destroy is a very interesting strategy game that mixes management elements (for research) with a very unique tactical combat model. Unfortunately, there is a feeling that the game has chosen to focus on the player's reaction instead of valuing more strategic possibilities, which ends up giving the feeling of a bad and punishing design. However, fans of strategy games interested in other possibilities of the genre can have fun with the unusual concept.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is an action RPG that makes a good introduction to the Eiyuden universe. It's a vivid world that, at least in this prologue, is worth getting to know, despite the artificial handling of the narrative and gameplay progression being a point that devalues the game a little.

Seven Pirates H is a charismatic RPG focused on its ecchi aspect just like its predecessors in the Genkai Tokki franchise. Though there are some issues in the gameplay and narrative, any player looking for charismatic girls and an experience that doesn't shy away from exploring eroticism in its many layers will likely enjoy the game a lot.

Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 2 is a new release of two high profile titles from Nippon Ichi Software's history. Despite doing only the mininum a collection should, the games still showcase their qualities and keep their status as good references of their respective genres. It's a recommendation RPG fans can't miss, especially those who already loved any other NIS works.

Lila's Sky Ark is a game that catches the eye with its more psychedelic world-building style. It is a very curious game in its narrative and gameplay proposal, but unfortunately its clear artificiality weakens the experience considerably. I recommend the title to anyone who wants a charming and relatively short abstract adventure that strays a little from the most typical.

Watcher Chronicles is a title with solid gameplay, good variety of equipments and values the player's thinking and reflexes. However, it presents a strong feeling of a totally generic experience due to its ambientation and story being totally disposable. Despite that, if this factor does not bother you, this is a really competent 2D Soulslike.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is a collection of two unmissable titles for fans of RPGs and good storytelling. Unfortunately, the edition has a number of technical issues, making it difficult to recommend it to general players. Even with its problems, however, it is a worthwhile experience. I hope the company corrects the current situation so that Chrono Cross can shine.
