8.5 / 10.0 - Lkyt.
Jun 20, 2023

Despite significant limitations to the impact and scope of the plot, such as the ambientation and animation, and some choices that could have been further developed for the narrative, Lkyt. is a stellar visual novel. Particularly, it brings a rare BL experience in its critic and somber outlook into human beings and when exploring love in the midst of an unforgiving war. Due to the weight of some scenes and for not emphasizing so much the emotional impact of the couples, I wouldn't recommend it to any BL fan but if you have the guts to explore a tragic and somber world, it may be a fascinating and unique experience.

There are specific points for someone to prefer the previous versions but overall the Final Fantasy I~VI in this version are superior in various aspects such as translation, music, and the visual upgrade (albeit a little modest). Overall, despite the simplicity in narrative and level design in the first titles of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster and its scenery already showing their age, these Final Fantasy [games] still deserve [the chance] to be played for their historical and conceptual importance, and some of them (especially Final Fantasy VI) remain among the best games in the series. The collection is recommended for fans of the series who wish to rediscover its roots and it's also accessible for newcomers who wish to start the saga of the warriors of light chronologically.

Though simple and a little uninteresting in its narrative and game design and some decisions that hinder progression in the game, Labyrinth of Zangetsu has a unique and elegant Japanese painting visual design and it works well as a traditional dungeon crawler, especially considering the customization and traps variety as well as its consistent medieval/folkloric setting. The title is recommended to those looking for a traditional-style dungeon crawler that's not too long and has a distinctive, oriental visual.

9 / 10.0 - Moon
Apr 29, 2023

Despite its simplicity in many ways and its sounding a little confusing or overly wacky, Moon: Remix RPG Adventure is perhaps one of the most unique and interesting games ever made with gameplay and storytelling that have not only aged well but continue to exhibit a very current and relevant critical design.

7 / 10.0 - Trinity Trigger
Apr 24, 2023

Despite the simplicity in several aspects, mainly visual and narrative, problems with the party AI and lack of personality, Trinity Trigger is a good tribute for fans of classic action JRPGs. The title is aimed at someone looking for a 3D experience similar to the gameplay of Secret of Mana, and is recommended with reservations for action JRPG fans who are open to a simple and casual adventure.

Despite not being innovative in gameplay and leaving points to be improved in the HD2D style, as well as having a story that could be more organic and interesting, Octopath Traveler II has a lot of content, generally good protagonists, a beautiful and varied OST and a dynamic, versatile and accessible gameplay , with the care to respond partially or totally to the main criticisms of the first Octopath Traveler. This title is highly recommended for fans of classic style JRPGs from the 16-bit era and those who enjoyed any other Team Asano games.

6.5 / 10.0 - Redemption Reapers
Mar 4, 2023

Despite having a very simple story with very weak characters and a very limited and repetitive level design, Redemption Reapers is not a complete failure. Its slow, challenging pace uniquely explores the complementarity between your units' strengths and weaknesses, the story has a few high points, and the soundtrack is always good company for your tactical experience. The title is only recommended for tactical RPG fans who want something challenging with a slow pace and don't have better things on their radar.

7 / 10.0 - Blanc
Feb 14, 2023

Despite some small technical aspects that could have been refined and its simplicity in various aspects being detrimental to the enjoyment of its gameplay and narrative potential, Blanc has a unique charm in its characters' visual and a good general concept, and manages to offer an accessible, short and relaxing co-op experience. With some caveats, this title is recommended for casual players who appreciate minimalist artistic proposals applied to [the concept of] teamwork.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line contains an artistic style that is still charming and charismatic in its own theatrical way. In addition, the game brings significant improvements, especially in gameplay, and a very vast content of music from Final Fantasy and even from several other Square Enix IPs, via DLC, celebrating like no other game until then the valuable legacy of soundtracks from JRPGs.

7 / 10.0 - Forspoken
Feb 9, 2023

Despite the very low points of its narrative and the mediocrity of several aspects of gameplay, setting and optimization, Forspoken brings some unique concepts for costume and architecture, as well as a diverse and fresh female cast to the video game market, with dynamic and fluid combat that takes place in a practical and juicy way. The title is recommended, with some caveats, for anyone looking for a more casual action RPG experience with some different and feminine artistic inspirations.

Although the repetitive and simplistic dungeon crawler level design and plot development left a little to be desired in terms of the potential of its concepts, Persona 3 was revolutionary for its series and remains especially interesting in atmosphere and in narrative concepts. Despite considerable visual limitations, Persona 3 Portable is the best version of the game, due to gameplay and quality of life improvements, as well as new content in the female route. The title is a must for Persona fans and, with some caveats, it is also recommended for anyone who is generally looking for a JRPG with social simulation and dark themes.

6 / 10.0 - The Symbiant
Feb 2, 2023

Despite the simplicity in all aspects of this visual novel and the narrative not being as interesting or well written as it could have been considering its lore potential and the concept of symbiosis in a relationship, The Symbiant still ends up as a pleasant experience. Above all else, the plot has good characters and a beautiful couple. With some reservations, this title is recommended for BL fans interested in a sci-fi background and a western style of acting.

8 / 10.0 - Melatonin
Jan 5, 2023

Despite its narrative and audiovisual simplicity, as well as the little content, Melatonin has a well polished and consistent design. There are interesting psychological and social themes subtly brought up, comfortable audiovisual [elements] and a style that combines a dream ambientation and a creative gameplay that's at the same time intuitive and reasonably challenging when it focuses on the rhythmic aspect of the tracks more than their melodic parts. Despite its clichés, as well as some excesses and pacing problems, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has memorable scenes and dialogue and consolidates the Hydaelyn-Zodiark arc as one of the best Final Fantasy stories in a rich mythology of existential, cultural and political issues. The title is highly recommended for Final Fantasy fans and is also more accessible and enchanting than ever for newcomers to the series.
