I think I’ve had my fill of Metal Unit now with just over twenty hours in it. It’s by no means a classic. It’s not something you would run to your friends to recommend. Metal Unit focuses on few concepts to offer a good action and platform game. It is very interesting to use different equipment in devastating combinations, and part of the fun is to test and find unique synergies. The title has charming 16-bit looks and the roguelite elements helps bring variety, but the limited diversity of stages and unbalanced elements compromise the experience. In the end, Metal Unit offers uncomplicated fun.
