Critic Reviews for FRACT OSC
Fract OSC's puzzles are often too few and far between the open-world wandering, and the music integration does little to stir the soul.
If you do like games that challenge you to work out the rules for yourself, to find the edges of the world by falling over them, then Fract is a unique and often remarkable experience, best savoured in the dark at full volume. Go on, get lost.
It's hard to wholeheartedly recommend Fract OSC, because while technically it does everything well, something in it doesn't quite gel in the way one would hope. It's a beautiful game with a unique art style, a nicely intricate world to explore, and some good puzzles to solve, but somehow it also ends up being a bit aimless and sterile.
If you're in ownership of functioning eyes and ears, then you owe it to yourself to play this game.
Seeing the world fill up with sound and color is an amazing sight and it's something that should be experienced by all regardless of your level of music skill.
While Fract OSC is probably squarely in the 'not for everyone' category, those interested in a unique, music-centric experience with a healthy dose of exploration and obscure puzzles should definitely check out what this one has to offer.
