Despite its strong narrative focus, Bloodline is a sequel to Pearce’s Watch Dogs but a prequel to the events of Watch Dogs Legion; as such, we (at least partially) know what will happen next. I’m glad we had a chance to dip into Pearce’s journey again, but I’m hoping that any subsequent dealings with the character will be fully forward in time.

‎Bloodline is an expansion designed for all audiences, whether or not you have played the previous installments. It is true that, if you already know something about both characters it will be more interesting to find the references and mentions that Aiden and Wrench make, but if not, during our new adventure through the city of London; we will be explained the past of both and what relationship it has with our antagonist. Watch Dogs: Legion – Bloodline is a story of mixed feelings, reconciliations, revenge and conspiracy, a lot of conspiracy. Whether or not you played the base game is a good choice for fans of the series.

Watch Dogs: Legion Bloodlines brings familiar faces to new places, and if you can stand the tonal in-fighting, it's a worthwhile, occasionally daring story-driven adventure.

You get all of the great features of the base game with brand new story content. I think this is a great way to add new content and introduce new characters into the Watch Dogs universe. Ubisoft has really done a great job with Bloodline and it’s a definite must-play for all Watch Dogs fans.

While Bloodline doesn't reinvent the wheel or take any substantive risks, it does a great job at bringing together the new world of Legion with old world of Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2 to offer a short but focused Watch Dogs experience.

Watch Dogs Legion: Bloodline tries to be a love letter to fans of the series by bringing back two iconic characters as the protagonists, but in doing so, it removes the one gameplay mechanic that made Watch Dogs: Legion so memorable. Without characters to study, befriend, and recruit, Bloodline is a more watered-down open-world experience than the base game it's tied to. Worse is the fact that it doesn't expand on the base game at all. With no new regions to explore, activities to engage in, or gear to unlock, it's a pretty barebones package overall.

If you’re a fan of the series then you’ll find Bloodline is a worthwhile addition, but if Legion is your first foray into the Watch Dogs universe then you probably won’t get as much out of it as returning players.
