Onde is often surreal, generally calming and presents an overall experience that shouldn't be missed.
A charming experience from start to finish, Onde is an odyssey through the abstract mysteries of the world that’s described with evocative imagery and thought-provoking music. The score and visuals beautifully align to tell a story without a single word being uttered, and it’s a credit to the developers at how immersive the experience is. The artistic nature of the game and its limited gameplay mechanics will not appeal to everyone, but that’s okay. I may not know art, but I know what I like, and I certainly liked Onde.
Onde ticks all the boxes for the relaxing video game experience. I wouldn’t say it’s the most memorable of these types of games I have played in recent memory and the bubble-like puzzle elements weren’t particularly enjoyable for me. Feeling just a bit too slow and tedious at times. Still, not all art speaks to everyone and everything Onde does it does well without notable glitches or hiccups. Onde is the video game equivalent of a nice warm bath that weaves the use of sounds into its gameplay. If you need to take some time out from the stress of the world this title certainly achieves that.
Onde is a relaxing psychedelic trip that will leave you overwhelmed with joy. It's brief but meaningful in delivering a soothing journey through a variety of beautiful kaleidoscopic areas.
An original platforming experience, Onde combines a bold, fresh visual style, gratifying traversal mechanics and a fantastic soundtrack into a very satisfying game. A few rough edges are the only blemish on a unique game that’s worthy of your attention.
The game-travel experience is already well established and matured. Onde seems to return to the foundations of when this construct was modernized thanks to the explosion of the independent game, which curiously here would drink from a study sponsored by a large company. Onde is basic in its control and large and exuberant in sensations and audiovisual construction. Each of us will feel this trip in a different way and we will make it totally our own.
