Ghost Song Reviews
Ghost Song isn't a bad experience, but one that shows glimmers of excellence without fully realizing it. With so many metroidvania titles on the market today and with more polished experiences, it's hard to recommend Ghost Song.

Ghost Song is the perfect mix of Metroid and Hollow Knight, creating a gorgeous-looking game full of exploration, a great story, and a creepy atmosphere. If you like Metroidvania-style games, make sure you check out this title!
Ghost Song does some things quite well but as a complete package, it remains a tedious and patience-testing experience. With so many Metroidvanias out there, it's probably a good idea to look elsewhere for some exploration-based action.
While Ghost Song has a certain beauty to it, and offers decent play, it just doesn’t make a lasting impression
Ghost Song is an aesthetic descent into sadness that could've been much more, yet stumbles on the final lap. The game explores interesting characters while filling out the game world with melancholia, acting as a love letter to the Metroidvania and Souls genres. The soundtrack brings a resounding presence to the game that really cements that overall vibe for the player, enticing them in for more. There is enjoyment to be had here, but players might find that wonder and mystery replaced with frustration when coming up against bullet sponge enemies and a game narrative that never quite resolves in a satisfying way.
On paper, Ghost Song is a fun metroidvania that enchants with its spatial narrative, its pleasurable moments of exploration and its incredible ability to form alien ambiences. However, it is necessary to mention that, at least on Switch, facing such challenges also means having to deal with possible drops in fps and frustrating moments of input lag. These flaws don't make Deadsuit's journey any less fun, but unfortunately they make it a little more unpleasant when faced on Nintendo's console.

My personal experience with Ghost Song was something greater than the sum of the parts and the numerical balance. It's a great metroidvania in the exploration, in the atmosphere and in the surprise of the human warmth behind each encounter, making it a poetic and memorable title within one of my favorite genres. I will certainly play it again in the future.
