Harvestella is a Frankenstein creature of several genres with a golden heart. It's one of the year's most soothing games, with an addicting gameplay cycle and some intriguing quests.

HARVESTELLA is yet another great release from Square Enix. The neat plot, the beautiful and accurate soundtrack, the charismatic characters and the simple but enjoyable combat, make the title one of the best experiences of this year.

Harvestella offers a unique mix of farming sim and action RPG Lee. While there are some flaws in both aspects, and the presentation, Harvestella still offers an entertaining experience thanks to the gameplay mix and story.

Harvestella is the perfect game to cuddle up on the couch with, preferably in handheld mode on Nintendo Switch or on Steam Deck. While it doesn’t deliver the best JRPG or farming sim, it is the only game that delivers both experiences at the same time, delivering a unique entry in a crowded genre that manages to be a breath of fresh air.

Are you looking for a fantasy life with beautiful scenery and deep stories? 'Harvestella' can be one of your choices only if you are okay with suffering from terrible management system for stamina and time. While the combat system is okay at least, overall motion is somewhat awkward. Also, Insufficient convenience features are enough to make you think the game has a pretty big room for improvement.

Harvestella gets close but doesn’t quite strike a balance between JRPG elements and farming sim, but feels focused on having more done adequately than less done better. For players looking for a fairly casual JRPG experience, Harvestella is a palatable taster, but combat or farming fans may feel hungry for more or become bored with chores. I have enjoyed my time in the world so far, and I’m curious to see how the story continues and whether I run out of stamina in the 50 or so hours to reach the endgame.

Harvestella somehow manages to pull off some highly ambitious storytelling, accompanying with it a highly satisfying gameplay loop that is hard to put down. The game has a much stronger and widespread appeal than many may have been lead to believe heading into its release, and is an easy recommendation.

Harvestella is far from being the most impressive and innovative mixture between a farming simulator and an action RPG, but it’s far from being outright bad or worthy of being ignored, either. It’s got some neat redeeming factors, namely its phenomenal soundtrack and relaxing farming vibes, while suffering from an uninspired combat system, and some really poor pacing problems.

In a vibrant and colorful world, as a player you will grow your crops, befriend the townspeople, overcome threats, discover the origins of the world and the truth behind the Quietus disaster. This is a period of death that comes at the beginning of a new season. At first, Harvestella feels like all the other farm sims, but Haverstella has found a way to make the most simplicity work. The simple combat mechanics are nothing to rave about. Everything else, like agriculture, is excellent. As a player you can explore different cities and dungeons of the world. The length of the days feel perfect. You can do whatever you want and still have some wiggle room to run around and talk to townspeople, fish, explore, or even look for NPCs.

Harvestella is a mix between a JRPG and a farm simulator with touches of social simulation. With a story full of mysteries and challenges and a farm to take care of, the game offers more than 60 hours of gameplay.

I’ve seen a lot of people complain that Harvestella is just another farming game, when in reality, it’s a full blown RPG that has farming as an economical side quest that’s meant to boost the RPG side of things, and I think that’s an amazing touch.
