Resident Evil 4 reimagines and reanimates the 2005 classic with exceptional gameplay updates and lifelike visuals. The thrilling narrative and meticulously crafted environment have made RE4 a game I just can’t stop playing. With such high attention to detail, Capcom has crafted a prodigious experience so immersive that it stands gallantly as one of the greatest video game experiences offered in the industry today.
At the end of the day, the Resident Evil 4 remake sets out to reimagine one of the best survival horror games of all time, and succeeds in every area, big and small. The combat is the smoothest it has ever been, the monsters are disgustingly delightful, and this world has never been more inviting for those that love the dark side. The sheer breadth of the improvements made means that a new bar has been set yet again, and it is a no-brainer for anyone hoping to enjoy the best the genre has to offer.
It is an echo of the past, as a lot could be said for the original game that inspired it all, but with today’s gaming market being full of rereleases and remakes, this particular game stands out amongst the crowd. Resident Evil 4 Remake displays just how fantastic the original 2005 game was, while also building upon what the previous version had left in its path and still being its own thing.
Resident Evil 4 is a must-play title of this generation and it’s a game that will likely have a lasting appeal and a measurable impact on games to come.
Resident Evil 4 is another example of why I appreciate remakes, as it revitalizes the love for a beloved title. This game was delivered in such a way to not only appease veteran fans but also to welcome those who have experienced the series only through the previous remakes.
The Resident Evil 4 remake is a phenomenal experience that simply has to be played by everyone that has a PlayStation, Xbox or PC. Quality is through the roof, whether it's the snappy gameplay, gorgeous graphics, smartly remixed campaign or the many quality-of-life improvements. The game sits next to the original RE4 as the two greatest entries of this storied franchise.
Resident Evil 4 succeeds as a remake of one of the best horror titles of all time and it's just as gripping as the original game from 2005. Did anyone expect anything less?

The task was not easy, but the positive expectations were confirmed: Resident Evil 4 is a worthy remake of the original. The updated visuals have made the dark and desolate atmosphere even better, and in terms of the campaign, we have an adventure here that is on par with the quality of the original. In fact, it manages to surpass it in several moments, with better-written characters and better use of the horror element. The remake does not replace the original adventure, but stands side by side as a unique, rich, well-constructed and addictive experience. More than direct comparisons, here we have a rare case where carefully executed changes make the new release superior in several ways, always respecting what worked well. Whether you're a novice or veteran, this is an absolute must-have game.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is a bombastic remake of one of the best games ever made and it achieves greatness in the same way the original did. It doesn't replace the original but rather compliments it and feels like a natural continuation of the previous remake titles. I was hooked from the second the game started and I'm now on the 4th replay. Even now, I still cannot get enough of its addictive gameplay and engrossing environments. Resident Evil 4 Remake is the perfect mix of horror and action that has yet to be matched in the series since the original. While Resident Evil 8: Village tried, the fourth installment's pacing here cannot be matched, especially in the remake. Once again, Resident Evil 4 rules the survival horror roost!
Is Resident Evil 4 Remake a corny B-movie horror title filled to the brim with monsters and action? Absolutely and that is what makes the game so special in the first place. You will laugh, you will jump, and you will get frustrated with Ashley getting carried off again. But all of this combines to make undeniably one of the best 3rd person action games ever made. Whether you are a fan of the original or have never played a Resident Evil game before, Resident Evil 4 Remake is a wonderful place to be introduced into this terrifying and ridiculous franchise.
The Resident Evil series has been esteemed by fans for many years, so any attempt at a remake for one of its most beloved titles will inevitably be met with high expectations and near-febrile anticipation. The remake of RE2 set a high bar, and by most accounts, the RE3R fell far below it. We’re happy to report that the remake of Resident Evil 4 represents a return to form, and even sets a gold standard for any remake of a classic game.
This remake had the potential to derail the amazing work Capcom has been doing with remaking games in the series. I was worried about it being a fan favourite. I am glad to report that the series is still in great hands. Capcom has seemingly done the impossible and made Resident Evil 4 even better. With the Mercenaries DLC out this week for free things will continue going from strength to strength. With new areas and stunning graphics combined with the power of the PlayStation 5 and dualsense controller, it is a match made in heaven. For this reason, I award Resident Evil 4 the Thumb Culture Platinum award.
Capcom manages to provide the great Resident Evil 4 with a remake that succeeds in all areas. It feels familiar, but also has the necessary innovation for the fans. Frustrations from the past have been addressed in the present, which also makes those parts feel nice to play. In addition, they have also succeeded in returning to the original concept with Resident Evil 4, some more horror elements. Capcom once again proves with Resident Evil 4 that they can release successful remakes.

Resident Evil 4 is more brutal, intimidating, unsettling and intriguing than ever. By far, the best of the Resident Evil remakes in a way that it honors the foundations of the source material, logically expands upon them in interesting ways, and manages to make everything look, feel and play better. Regardless of where Capcom go from here, this is peak Resident Evil – it just does not get much better than this.
When the Resident Evil 2 Remake was released back in 2019, I believed the series had peaked and that it couldn’t get any better. I was completely wrong. The Resident Evil 4 Remake takes everything that worked about the original, taking away the few things that didn’t work, and then bringing in some modern features to create an entirely new masterpiece. Finding a perfect balance between new and old. This is for everyone to enjoy.
Resident Evil 4, the remake, exists, and thanks to the improvements that have been made, most importantly presentational ones, for as needless as it feels it is in the end, it can, in fact, be thought of as the ultimate way to enjoy RE4. Then again, it doesn’t completely replace the original, which remains a very playable and enjoyable timeless classic. If you have yet to bask in and pop an army’s worth of Ganado heads, you won’t go wrong with the remake, but if the chance presents itself, try playing both.
Capcom took a lot of risks in making several changes to their cult game, but they all improve the experience. Resident Evil 4 (2023) is another very well modernized masterpiece. Whether its the amazing new visuals provided by the RE Engine or the many practical adjustments to the gameplay, Capcom is definitely on top of their game with this franchise.

This is a remake that has recreated the original while also respecting its charm and defining elements. Overall, it will leave fans mesmerized while also coming back for more.
