Critic Reviews for Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case

Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case has its fair share of issues, but if you're a Poirot fan you'll still get a kick out of it.

Hercule Poirot: The London Case delivers on its promise of a new Agatha Christie-style story in the Poirot universe. While it doesn't have the same level of tricksy, interweaving motives and relationships as Poirot favourites, the story is entirely entertaining nonetheless. However, the game lacks polish to the extent that it's distracting, progress is not always logical and the loading times on Switch are a real problem. For all its charm, you don't have to be a world-class detective to see its flaws.

I wasn’t a fan of The London Case, admittedly I am not a huge fan of Hercule Poirot outside of live action media though. But for me this game just felt unpolished and perhaps rushed, which maybe it was because as I write this a new Hercule game is set to drop this very week. Again, this is a sequel in a series that I haven’t played so this may be an improvement I don’t know, what I do know is that for someone who enjoys mystery, adventure games The London Case shall remain unsolved for this fledgling detective.

Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The London Case is a game that is better looking, bigger and more fun. The developers use the same formula as the previous title, for a game that confirms all the excellent production qualities.

Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case is an enjoyable, if unambitious detective yarn. Though its simplicity might fail to stimulate the tactile minds of more practiced video game sleuths, the resolutely relaxed and accessible detective beats on offer mean that newcomers will find few better introductions to the genre and should probably feel free to add a point to the review score below in the process.

Let's face it: we love to live great stories and feel part of them. Although it is not the main thing in a video game, a good plot will always catch the player for many hours of gameplay. And this Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The London Case achieves this purpose, proposing an exciting and well-written plot, with a multitude of very well planned and not cheating twists, an enviable rhythm, brilliant dialogues and characters that overflow charisma.

Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case tells a good story starring Detective Hercule Poirot, who, although rejuvenated compared to his expert and moustached version, is equally shrewd, intelligent and charismatic.

The London Case is a better game than the previous on in virtually any expect. It doesn't have the same compelling cast of characters, but its mystery is way more compelling.
