Critic Reviews for DreamWorks Trolls Remix Rescue
DreamWorks Trolls Remix Rescue is a collection of generic and uninspired solutions that tries to sustain itself by the charisma of a franchise much loved by children. It fails narratively, aesthetically, and, especially, in the fun factor by not being able to justify itself, even when it works.

DreamWorks Trolls Remix Rescue is so close to being a game I would have recommended to any platforming fan, regardless if you’re a Trolls fan or not. While there is a competent 3D platformer here, featuring some fun moments moments from the movies that the kids will love, unfortunately there are some issues here to keep in mind.
Dreamworks Trolls Remix Rescue is a decent addition to the kids’ gaming genre, but it doesn’t break new ground. The overreliance on rhythm-based mini-games, while a fun aspect, feels like a recycling of the same formula seen in many other children’s games. If you’re a fan of the Trolls franchise, you’ll likely enjoy the game’s connection to the films and the opportunity to play as your favorite characters. However, for those looking for a truly innovative and standout kids’ game, this may not be the one to choose in a market saturated with similar offerings.
While it has the look (mostly), the sound, and some of the character of the movies, the game is a buggy mess
Trolls: Remix Rescue fails at almost every hurdle. The awful camera and brutal bugs make it borderline unplayable at times, but equally it’s underwhelming and generally boring as you traverse its unfinished looking environments and repetitive, simplistic gameplay. Even its rhythm based action, local co-op and soundtrack can’t really save this one from being a washout, whether you love Trolls or not.
Dreamworks Trolls Remix Rescue’s open space and freedom of progression will likely appeal to kids.
That’s what makes DreamWorks Trolls Remix Rescue so frustrating: it’s so close to being good, but its flaws make it almost impossible to recommend. It’s far better than it has any right to be or than its pedigree suggests, but it’s still going to be a letdown to almost everyone.
