Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection delivers a darker tale, stronger characters, and engaging combat, offering a gorgeous and rewarding evolution of the spin‑off series
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is an undeniably fun and instantly addictive turn-based title based on the world of Monster Hunter. This title follows a unique storyline with the ability to raise dragons and restore the natural balance of their presence in the entire world. The open world gives a lot of opportunities to be lost for hours exploring, but the story is well delivered to keep you hooked until the end
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection reaches the pinnacle of the franchise with a mature narrative, stunning visuals, and innovative ecosystem mechanics that deepen the Rider's role. Turn-based combat is more challenging, although the experience suffers from the absence of online mode and a lack of a wider variety of weapons.

Capcom has achieved a strong evolution over its predecessors, which are light years ahead of what is done here. The combat is fun, the story and visuals win you over, while the design works very well to keep you focused on the adventure.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection successfully balances a brilliant and engaging narrative with an addictive, creature-collecting gameplay loop that is incredibly hard to put down. The combat finally packs a proper punch and demands real tactical thinking and adaptability in order to survive, while the deep DNA channeling and new Habitat Restoration systems ensure you will be happily tweaking your perfect team of Monsties for hours on end. It’s just really, REALLY good. Add to that the gorgeous visuals, flawless performance, and a tantalising world to explore, and you’ll quickly see that Capcom has delivered a turn-based masterclass in the monster-taming genre that feels like more than just a Monster Hunter spin-off. If you’re a turn-based RPG fan, you won’t want to miss out on this.
Monster Hunter Stories 3 feels like a prematurely released game that could have been truly great. It’s got everything from the series’ signature monster collecting mechanics, the gritty turn-based combat, and much, much better audiovisuals than its predecessors. Unfortunately, beyond the bloat of grinding for stronger monsters and watching filler, there’s not much content to actually engage in.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection delivers a near-perfect monster-collecting and combat experience.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection refines the series' formula by offering more Monsties, a slightly larger world, and combat that remains as accessible as it is strategic. It doesn't take too many risks, but what it does, it does very well. If you enjoyed Stories 2, this is a very solid sequel.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 is an excellent installment by all metrics. It sets a new narrative standard for the series and franchise as a whole while providing several enhanced signature elements. As such, it’s a game that can easily be recommended to both new and returning players.
The world of Monster Hunter is best known for big battles against gigantic monsters and collecting materials. However, the Stories series has been taking a different approach for years. Instead of pure action, the emphasis here is more on a story-driven RPG, in which you collect monsters, work with them and experience a great adventure. Developer Capcom continues this with Monster Hunter Stories 3 - Twisted Reflection. The result is a game that clearly builds on previous parts: colorful, accessible and full of familiar elements for fans. At the same time, the game also tries to bring enough novelty to draw players back into the world.

“Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection” is a game about connections. Yourself with nature, to the ones you love and matter to you, extending your hand to the ones in need and forming a bond. Saving endangered species, restoring once fractured or severed ones. Does it always hit the spot? As I stated multiple times above, no. But at the end of the day, it does come from a place of love, of good intentions. And, to me, it is what matters the most.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is the best game in the Stories arc and one of the best RPGs of the last few decades.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 manages to scratch several itches all at once, all in bite-sized, manageable amounts. With a renewed focus on story than other elements, it provides a focused, well-structured challenge that fans of the series will appreciate. Getting lost in its beautifully crafted world is never an issue, since there is always something to do. If you can ignore its minor quirks and slightly outdated systems, Monster Hunter Stories 3 will offer you countless hours of fun.
Powered by the RE Engine, Twisted Reflection is a breathtaking anime odyssey that matures the spin-off series with a fully voiced, politically charged narrative. By refining its tactical "Rock-Paper-Scissors" combat and adding an addictive habitat-restoration loop, Capcom has crafted a high-production JRPG that stands tall alongside the mainline franchise.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is the strongest this spin-off series has been so far. Its story finally gives the adventure real pull, the combat asks more from you in the right ways, and Habitat Restoration gives the whole game a better sense of purpose. The political side of the story could have used more room through the middle, and the Nintendo Switch 2 version has pop-in and frame drops that are hard to ignore. Even with those issues, this is the Monster Hunter Stories game that pulls everything together best.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is a highly qualified game—I would even say a strong contender for game of the year. With beautiful visuals, rich and creative settings, diverse and customizable monsters, and a mature and well-written story, the game also features well-developed and charismatic NPCs. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection shows that the series has found its definitive identity and delivers the best adventure in the franchise so far.
