For a long time, Avatar has felt like a poisoned chalice when it comes to video games, but Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game proves that it’s been a perfect fit all along. Even with it being on the smaller side, the fantastic and very Avatar combat mechanics, gorgeous style, and love for the series make it a fighter that’s going to be very hard to top.

The fighting can be fun, but the roster is a mixed bag, the story a bit weak, and there's currently no ranked mode in multiplayer. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a good game, but it isn't a top tier fighting game.

If you love classic 1v1 fighting games, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is an experience you'll constantly find rewarding too, representing a great return-to-form in a genre that often too easily loses its way.

But unless you’re really committed to mastering all of the mechanics here, it feels difficult to fully recommend in its current state – not because it’s a bad game, but it just lacks the polish and features you’d expect from a more fleshed out product.
