Despite some puzzling omissions and a lackluster story mode, Avatar Legends is a fighting game fan's dream, with a diverse roster, an incredibly flexible combat system that rewards precision and creativity, and some of the coolest looking combos around.
For a long time, Avatar has felt like a poisoned chalice when it comes to video games, but Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game proves that it’s been a perfect fit all along. Even with it being on the smaller side, the fantastic and very Avatar combat mechanics, gorgeous style, and love for the series make it a fighter that’s going to be very hard to top.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a great fighting game that has something for long-time fans of the Avatar franchise and fans of more hardcore fighting games. It isn't always putting its best foot forward in some respects, but that doesn't stop the core experience from being enjoyable.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a rock-solid fighter that manages to honor a beloved IP without compromising any of the sensibilities needed to succeed in this genre.

But unless you’re really committed to mastering all of the mechanics here, it feels difficult to fully recommend in its current state – not because it’s a bad game, but it just lacks the polish and features you’d expect from a more fleshed out product.
