Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar is a creative and charming quantum puzzler with a brilliant core mechanic, but it’s held back by its pacing issues and a disappointing endgame scenario, which will no doubt leave many players feeling disappointed by its overuse of repetitive design and lack of focus.
Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar combines a unique and quirky concept with Portal-like puzzle solving, creating brain teasers that are simultaneously challenging and yet unusually forgiving to new players. The game can be played with two players, but it is a completely different experience when you play alone, enticing your brain not only with cooperative puzzles but with the challenge of controlling two cats at the same time.
Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar is clearly a labour of love, which is obvious from the thought and effort that went into it. It may have certain shortcomings, but they pale in comparison to how much of a blast I had with the game, making me excited for what the studio may come up with next. It’s for this reason that I give it the Thumb Culture Gold Award!
