Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis TD is therefore best understood as an evolution rather than a revolution. It keeps the accessible foundation, retains the humor, expands the lore, and makes the tactical side more demanding. Its weaknesses are real, but they sit alongside a campaign that feels more considered and engaging than the recent entries.
Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis TD feels like a nice reminder of when mobile games could simply be good games without constantly trying to sell you something. The Steam version also avoids the sort of monetisation that has made me increasingly wary of the mobile gaming space. If you already love Kingdom Rush, there is plenty here to enjoy. If you’re new to the series, this is a perfectly accessible introduction to the formula. I did find the grinding a little heavy at times, and the hero behaviour occasionally got on my nerves, but underneath that is a solid, enjoyable tower-defence game with plenty of content. It doesn’t push the genre forward. But sometimes a good tower-defence game is all you need.
Continuing its long run of excellent releases, Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis shows that the famous tower defense franchise remains a great choice. The game's story is very interesting, making good use of the established and enjoyable gameplay. There's a large number of heroes, towers, and spells to use, all with a beautiful and competent presentation. Even if it lacks a bit more boldness, the title is an excellent addition to your library.
