No Man's Sky innovates but not enough for it live up to the monstrous hype it received upon in its initial reveal.

Hello Games made a lot of promises that weren't kept, leading to a drop in player base and faith. No Man's Sky has infinite replayability, but doesn't have enough drive to keep me coming back often.

What it all comes down is the fans were expecting more out No Man’s Sky because Murray and Hello Games and Sony had said there was going to be so much more.

No Man's Sky is not a game where the focus is on story. Its focus is on exploring a galaxy, seeing beautiful things and having some cool moments. It may be a tired cliché, but it’s something that is definitely not for everyone. For those it is for though it's great.

A universally-divisive undertaking on a cosmic scale, No Man's Sky shines brightest when you are left to your own devices.

There’s a lot of room for improvement when it comes to patches and potential expansions in the near future. It will be interesting to see if Hello Games takes this approach. More things could easily be added for players to do, and having a bit more diversity in that regard could change this game from something average to something great.

Hello Games can certainly fix a lot of No Man’s Sky’s faults over time and I believe they will. It has plenty of potential and already offers players an addictive and sometimes mesmerising experience. It’s just a shame that right now, it’s a skeleton of the game it could become.

'No Man's Sky' pairs our love of exploration with a universe of massive scale. While the story takes some sorting out before you feel like you really have a grasp on it, it is deep and thought-provoking. There are many systems and features within the game, and the vast majority of them feel polished and correctly balanced. 'No Man's Sky' is a game that is worth playing.

By no means is No Man’s Sky a bad game, but it just isn’t an amazing one. That a team of 10 people could create the vast experience they have is an incredible feat and one that should never be downplayed, but I almost wish they hadn’t been so intent on creating such a giant experience.

No Man’s Sky is ultimately a disappointment, and it’s hard to recommend it at the price it is going for.

No Man's Sky has a framework that could have led to an impressive game. Instead, the core parts of "gameplay" seem to be limited in the name of calling it a "chill game". It's boring, uninspired, repetitive and simply unfun.

No Man's Sky is a flawed game that everyone should try to experience once, just not at $60. There's a lot to see and not much to do.

No Man's Sky, developed by Hello games and published by Sony is finally here. No doubt plenty of you are and have been playing the game since its release, so is the HYPE train real? I'm not so sure, however I will say I never nor anyone I work with hyped the game up. We understood that this was an indie game with a cool concept being backed by a large publisher. Other people seemed to have blown what No Man's Sky is doing out of proportion due to the fact it was backed by Sony.

No Man’s Sky is a foundation for an opportunity that no game has come close to, but is so empty despite its size. This is a game riddled with technical difficulties, bland visuals, but beckons you to its side with its openness and eluding promises.

An interesting concept, just not enough variety and can become boring after a few hours

An awe-inspiring breakthrough in procedural generation technology that could become a great game after several updates, but for now, it's not worth buying unless at a heavily discounted price.

No Man's Sky has been compared to Minecraft, but as it sits that's not a very apt comparison. The game is, as a friend called it, a mile wide and an inch deep. It's a sandbox without the bucket and shovel. They have big plans for future updates, so perhaps it'll be a game to check out at that point.
