Mekazoo Reviews
Mekazoo proves to be a joyous platformer built on the ideas of just about any platformer one can think of, specifically sticking to ones that came out of the 80s and 90s.
Mekazoo wants desperately to be in the company of Donkey Kong, Mario and Sonic, but can barely rub shoulders with Blinx the Time Sweeper.
Mekazoo is a familiar platforming experience that’s immensely fun. Zooming through the levels is a good time on your own, but really the game is designed for playing with a friend next to you. If you’re looking for an evening or two’s worth of entertainment for platformer fans, then Mekazoo is well worth the price of admission.
While it won’t set the world on fire, Mekazoo is one of those games I could see taking off down the road when it hits a sale and word of mouth spreads. The performance issues will hopefully be cleaned up by then, and players will get to experience the joy the developers have crafted here.
Mekazoo plays it safe in the gameplay department, but what is there can still be frantic and fun.
Mekazoo is a gorgeous, brilliantly designed evolution of the platformer genre. It feels natural, playful, engrossing, and challenging all at once. Swapping Mekanimals on the fly adds to the game’s already successful formula by giving it more depth. With a magnificent soundtrack and an intuitive, natural flow, this gem shouldn’t be missed.
A sparkling new take on an old formula, with enough innovation to keep things interesting.
Get the bugs fixed and Mekazoo is on the verge of being a must play title
Mekazoo brings the 2.5D platformer to life as you battle bosses and traverse terrain in a beautifully crafted experience that'll be sure to have you wanting more.
It’s been great playing the game for this Mekazoo review. It’s a fun and fast-paced platformer with a dynamic and interesting main gameplay mechanic that grows on you. If features great level design and a good challenge with a slow and steady difficulty curve that will never feel overwhelming. If you’re in the mood for a modern platformer on PS4, then be sure to give this one a spin!
I absolutely loved my time with the game for my Mekazoo review. This is exactly the type of game I did not know I wanted to play. It surprised me in a good way with it’s great visuals, solid gameplay and challenge. I highly recommend you play this one!
Mekazoo does an excellent job of carving out its own identity, combining a unique aesthetic with mechanics that combine low level puzzle-solving and basic platforming mechanics. While we’ve certainly seen many of the elements on display in Mekazoo , I can’t think of any that managed to repurpose basic aspects of the platforming experience in such a unique manner.
Whether alone or with a friend, getting to play as these five different animals in these vibrant worlds complimented by a fantastic soundtrack is different enough to warrant a purchase. Hopefully this is just the beginning of great things to come from the Good Mood Creators.
Mekazoo is a great callback to the platformers we all know and love, especially with its cast of playable characters that drive the gameplay. A pretty decent level of challenge is present, yet the younger audience it looks to be made for may not be able to grasp it.
Mekazoo does a lot of things right with the platforming genre, and fans should absolutely give it a try. While we can’t say it is among the best of the best, it certainly is a good game. And in a time period where a lot of games feel very similar, we wish more studios would take a chance with games like Mekazoo. Developer Good Mood Creators has a nice foundation built, and we would love to see what they can do with future releases.
