The limited HUD and outstanding sound design of Day of Infamy do wonders for immersion as it is just you down there, in the mud, holding onto your gun and scanning the terrain for the enemy.

Day of Infamy delivers an excellent product for a narrow field. It is an easy sell for fans of tactical shooters, and anyone interested in WWII era games. However, the game is not friendly towards casual gamers, and players who are unfamiliar with the genre will find Day of Infamy a frustrating and slow experience.

Day of Infamy is one of those games that will quickly weed out players without the patience or willingness to adapt to its more methodical and strategic approach, creating a small but skilled core fan base that should stick with the game for the long run.

It feels good to bring out my gaming MacBook, my 9 years-old wireless gaming mouse and play the game downloaded straight from Steam. Day of Infamy is an Insurgency with World War II twist. Great shooter, where one shot is in most cases one kill. It keeps player on their toes, keep them engaged in CQC, but also makes them focus on the objective.

Its a nice throwback for those who enjoy a more realistic and slower paced approach to shooters, but it strechtes its content too thin and loses the teamplay element that made Insurgency great.
