Stellaris: Apocalypse Reviews
Paradox has always made fantastic strategy games and while Stellaris proved different it still found a base.
Every part of Stellaris is still here; the pieces have just been rearranged, neatly.
Stellaris' Cherryh update does much to make combat actually enjoyable, while the Apocalypse DLC acts like extra frosting on an already delightful cake, though it's definitely not going to be for everyone given the nature of the game and the learning curve.
A needed yet ultimately disappointing expansion.
This new DLC, Stellaris: Apocalypse, and the major update to the base game, overhaul some serious systems, but the root problem of the title still remains. It simply is too grindy, too 'bureaucratic,' and simply takes too long to do anything interesting.
Mostly overshadowed by Stellaris 2.0 Update, Apocalypse is a solid, albeit light on content expansion.
