Critic Reviews for Hollow
Hollow is an incredibly ugly game with the kind of plentiful technical issues that make it actively difficult to play. Those with a masochistic streak might derive some pleasure from its abrasiveness and its downbeat tone, but most Switch-owning horror fans would be much better served playing through Resident Evil Revelations and its sequel for the umpteenth time.
Hollow is a complete failure and a real mockery. Monotonous, confusing and miserable game. It doesn't deserve your attention even with price slashed by 90%.

Hollow tries to break into the circle of horror games for the Nintendo Switch, which has been growing considerably over the months. While Hollow does a good job at presenting the right atmosphere for a horror game, it loses its potential when it comes to the actual gameplay, which feels heavy and slow and the experience suffers from several technical issues and bugs that make it more difficult to enjoy.

But perhaps in some cases it is best to simply not port a game if the target system is unable to maintain your vision, and you are unwilling to adjust it. If for some reason you're desperate to play this game on your Switch, play it docked. As a handheld experience, Hollow is unjustifiable.
There's nothing that actually redeems Hollow. It's a B-grade Dead Space clone that follows the "rules" of horror without actually understanding any of them.
I have to say that Hollow is not a good game and that you will find better experiences from other games that launched on Switch around the same time as Hollow did
While it is obvious the effort behind Hollow is there the net result, for the most part, comes up short. Without question people who are thirsting for a horror title that at least has some action and gore will probably find it worthwhile, willing to overlook its various flaws, but from a more mainstream perspective it’s a tough sell. The game’s conclusion promising more in the form of a sequel can hopefully point to a sophomore effort that’s a bit more varied and refined but this first outing is unfortunately tough to love.
Overall, I never feel comfortable giving a negative review of a game, especially when you can see they were trying at some point along the line. However, the high price point, low quality of gameplay and some poor design decisions have forced my hand when it comes to Hollow. Hollow is not a good game, it’s not even an average game. It’s sadly below par for what it is trying to achieve. From the screenshots to the trailer you may be tricked into thinking Hollow is a quality made game, but it’s not. It’s not scary and it’s not fun to play. It’s below average at best and poor at worst.
