Critic Reviews for The Wizards

The Wizards delivers one of the most solid experience we enjoyed in VR. It is immersive, comfortable and makes perfect use of motion controls to make us feel like summoning spells and confronting huge creatures.

The Wizards uses the VR in a very satisfying way and it's a "magic" shooter that does not give up a bit of exploration, narration and GdR elements.

There are plenty of archery, wave-based, and shooter VR titles out there, but none that scratch the spellcasting itch. Thankfully, The Wizards fills that gap with style. What it may occasionally lack in finesse, it makes up for in style, voice work, and gameplay. The Wizards is a solid addition to any VR library.

With a great balance between playability, ominous ambiance, and well-designed VR elements like mobility and weaponry, The Wizards is an excellent model of the compelling and enjoyable things that can be done with VR. It is attractive and enticing without being too easy or too hard. Level designs are challenging but fair, although they may not feel that way at first exposure.

Making the most of the controllers and putting magic in your hands, it's hard not to feel very mystical with The Wizards.

The Wizards is generally a good VR action-adventure title. Using some imaginative and intuitive controls to cast spells, it does an excellent job of making the player feel like they are indeed controlling a powerful wizard. The narrator is brilliant, and there are some really special effects and sights to see. However, things are let down slightly by the overall length of the game, which can be polished off in just a few hours. Additionally, many of the landscapes and levels have the habit of merging together due to how similar in style they look to one another, with only small bits of variety. It isn't the cheapest adventure on the market, but certainly one to pick up if a fan of this genre.

From its amazing spell conjuring to its great control options, The Wizards is a great experience that will be enjoyed by most PSVR owners. The combat arenas can become slightly repetitive but they are broken up by light puzzles and awesome boss fights. The motion gesture spell casting is brilliantly realized and really makes you feel like you are actually creating magic.

Wizards is an entertaining game when it works with plenty to keep you occupied. I just wish you didn’t have to fight with the controls so much then this would be up there with the best.
