Critic Reviews for Prey: Mooncrash
A smart expansion that probably won't be for everybody—but the right player will love it.
Mooncrash is Prey at its best, featuring enough challenges and gadgets in a well-designed playground to keep you coming back for more
Bethesda could have written Prey off with no further support, or released a DLC that just did more of the same, but it didn't. Prey: Mooncrash is an excellent expansion to a great game and adds enough of a twist to feel fresh and exciting.
Mooncrash is a DLC focused on the combat and survival aspect of Prey. In spite of the fact that these were not the best aspects of the game, Arkane Studios manages to offer something fresh and innovative that works so well.

Mooncrash does not need big novelties to be surprising. In fact, at the level of game mechanics what it does is divide Prey's to show differentiated game styles. Randomness plays in favor of this expansion, completely recommended for those who enjoy the original game.

Arkane leverages Prey's strengths in gameplay with a rogue like twist on story delivery for one of the best DLCs of the year.
Mooncrash is an excellent piece of DLC that allows the more creative elements of Prey to shine.
If you're looking to enjoy more of what Prey already was, then I think there's a lot to like with Mooncrash. The core systems and mechanics of Prey are still readily found in Mooncrash and as such make for a lot of fun, challenging objectives to overcome. For me, it was an experience that lost steam the longer I played, but I can't deny how much I enjoyed its initial opening hour.
