Critic Reviews for Omega Strike
Omega Strike is a fun and enjoyable little 2D Metroidvania with some side-scrolling shooter sensibilities. It doesn't do anything particularly new or interesting – and its ‘unique' character-swapping concept was done a lot better by Broforce – but if you're looking for a modern tribute to Metal Slug that's fun and challenging in a very familiar way, then Omega Strike is likely to scratch that common itch. Just keep those expectations in check as this isn't the most original or exciting example the genre has to offer.
If you like the metroidvania genre, it is a release to be taken into account which failures are forgiven due to its low price.

Omega Strike isn't breaking any new ground, but who cares? Unlike some metroidvanias, it's engrossing, engaging, and never lets up. For those hungry for the adventures of Samus and Simon Belmont, Omega Strike will surely satisfy.
If you’re a fan of the Wolbyware’s previous work or are a fan of platformers I think Omega Strike is definitely worth a look-in however for this writer there’s not enough to keep bringing me back to the title.
In the end, developer Woblyware has created a casual and enjoyable Metroidvania game in Omega Strike. My only complaint was that it was over a bit too soon for my taste, but I guess that's a good sign of a great game. Fans of the genre should definitely play this one, since Doctor Omega needs to be stopped and you have a right to have a lot of fun!
It might sound like I'm being overly hard on Omega Strike but I did have a decent time with it.
While it is a decent Metroidvania wannabe, Omega Strike offers little else that can surprise.
There's a lot of a fun to be had with Omega Strike, as its gameplay, graphics and soundtrack are certainly great. Unfortunately, it suffers from plenty of poor design issues that hamper the game's real potential.
