NieR: Automata Become as Gods Edition Reviews
Being that the game is unchanged from last year, it's no surprise that the Become As Gods Edition doesn't disappoint. If you're Xbox-only and haven't given this game a go, there's no better time than the present.
If you love a great story told with devastating style, you need to play through Nier Automata several times.
With interesting mechanics such as "beating" the game for dying at certain times or doing silly things like removing your operating system, or the extremely odd way that some of the enemy machines pantomime the more mundane (or not so mundane) actions of humanity, Nier: Automata is oft-times confusing but the deftness with which the various elements found throughout, miraculously pulls the game together and is anchored by the best music in the business. What results is easily the most under-appreciated game of these last two years.
Nier: Automata never feels stale or boring thanks to director Yoko Toro's ability to find a way to keep things fresh through gameplay, presentation, and story. Everything about this JRPG is nothing short of gripping and mesmerizing, it's one of those generation-defining games where people will look back on it decades from now talking about it still filled with awe.
NieR: Automata remains a fantastic action RPG, bringing an alluring world, compelling characters and a real sense of agency together to craft something I really can't recommend enough. If you've yet to play this gem, the Xbox One is currently one of the best places to do so.
XBox One owners have no excuse to miss out on this game. It is one of the best examples of video games as a medium of entertainment and needs to be played by every person possible. I cannot stress enough how important this game is, or how good it is.
NieR: Automata is without a doubt one of the best games of the generation and it's likely going to remain one of my personal favorite games ever.
