Critic Reviews for City of the Shroud
It is difficult to recommend City of the Shroud. It offered so much but delivers very little.
If you're a fan of this type of game I'd recommend checking it out or if you're just curious to see what happens when the story becomes influenced by the whole community.
City of the Shroud epitomises this approach, putting narrative at the heart of what it does, and emerging triumphant as a result.
With City of the Shroud, the premise is far better than the execution. The five different sides of the story is by far one of the best parts but is buried far too often in meaningless fetch quests and mediocre writing. The combat system would be better served if it was turn-based and deeper, as spamming is simply far more effective and not particularly fun.
City of Shroud is an special tactical RPG with unique art style, amazing story and narration, nice characters and fun co-op. but beside these good aspects, gameplay has some issues in AI or combat mechanic that could be much better. if you are looking for a fun co-op experience with unique art style and beautiful story, City of Shroud is a good choice that worth your time.

At this point in time, City of the Shroud is a fantastic experience. With great storytelling, an amazing combat system and the ability to set your party up as you see fit, there’s more than enough to keep you going with the current single player components to get you started and the multiplayer components to test your mettle against other players.
City of the Shroud's first chapter boasts intuitive mechanics and witty dialogue, but is held back by a lack of gameplay variety and a story that refuses to commit.
City of the Shroud offers an ‘OK’ RPG experience wrapped around a fun and interesting combat system core.
