A precise, challenging, laser-focused platformer that lacks the joyful sense of movement, ingenuity and sheer generosity of its inspiration. Awesome Pea might emulate the look and feel of the Game Boy classics, but it lacks their soul.
There is definitely a pea, but I’m not sure about the “awesome” part.
Awesome Pea is a generic mess. Clunky level design, repeated setpieces, inconsistent level lengths, this platformer honestly feels like something thrown out the door in a few months with little care. As a Game Boy throwback it fails, and as a quick platformer it fails, so considering how this game asks $6 for two hours of unsatisfying content, I just cannot recommend this game in the slightest, not with many other better options available on the eShop.
Average GameBoy-Style Platformer
BAD - Awesome Pea is an action-platformer that lacks any form of passion. Zero creativity, poor music, and forgettable level designs make this one an easy “NO” for most gamers.
