Commandos 2 - HD Remaster is a disappointingly lacklustre port of a real-time tactics classic. This is a game that's showing its age in many ways but, with the right tweaks, some decent control implementation and squashing of bugs, it could have had its moment to shine with modern audiences. As it is, the irritations and annoyances expected in revisiting a game of this vintage are exacerbated to no end with shoddy, unwieldy controls, unexpected performance problems and a general lack of care. The graphics have been updated here, but everything else remains much as it was – with the added frustration of bugs, glitches and long loading times.
The double pack Commandos 2 & Praetorians: HD Remaster offers two classics of the strategy of the legendary Spanish studio Pyro Studios, which return completely renewed in high definition, new tutorials, campaign missions and compatibility with controls in the console versions. In addition, it includes an integrated version of the Praetorians – HD Remaster multiplayer mode.

This collection bring back memories from two of the greatest spanish games ever made, but gameplay feels outdated, the remaster fells short visually, and the use of gamepad is not implemented well enough.

A poor console port, a massively underwhelming remaster of a classic RTS game, and a game that really shows its age. Commandos 2 is a disappointment on multiple levels. What could have been a great opportunity to introduce modern audiences to a classic instead desecrates the memory of it.
Commandos 2 / Praetorians HD Remaster Double Pack contains two excellent videogame productions with a glorious past, but the treatment reserved for at least one half of the package (Commandos 2) leaves something to be desired.

An ideal pack for nostalgic people who vibrated with the classics of RTS Commandos 2 and Praetorians and for all those who love the genre. An ode to Pyro Studios that comes to Xbox One.

Commandos 2 – HD Remaster takes a fun but difficult real-time tactics PC game and makes it less fun but more difficult on the Nintendo Switch. The celebrated core gameplay remains, but clunky controls and some annoying bugs will make you wish you'd gone with the computer version.
Commandos 2: HD Remaster graphically upgrades a beloved tactical classic and gives a fresh coat of paint to a fairly obtuse set of controls. While it is shipping with a few bugs, all of the pieces that made this game a classic are present and accounted for. With just a little more polish we'll be able to "Consider it done, boss".
