‎Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition is the definitive version of obsidian's game that saw the light of day in 2018. Now on consoles comes with all its content, the main game and its three DLC Beast of Winter, Seekeer, Slayer, Suvivor and The Forgotten Sanctum. This second installment enhances everything the first Pillars of Eternity brought us with a new multiclass system and the implementation of epic new naval battles and crew management.‎

It takes all the best from the original Pillars of Eternity and reproduces it with a number of improvements and new mechanics that undoubtedly make it one of the best classic RPGs that have been made in recent years. ‎

The console port of Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire has the same great story, characters, and gameplay of the PC version but is marred by technical problems and load times.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - Ultimate Edition brings the epic CRPG to consoles, and the majority of it is excellent, although there are far too many load screens that seem to go on forever.

If you don't have a high-range PC gaming, this console version is the best way to enjoy this title, with all the DLCs and patches included with no extra download required. As for the game itself, it's one of the better CPRG out there.

A soaring achievement in the genre, very minor technical issues aren't enough to detract from the fact that Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire: Ultimate Edition is the first must-have game of 2020 and the finest RPG in an age. Adventures don't come much more essential than this.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - Ultimate Edition is a fantastic role-playing game with an interesting story, deep quests and a great world. It will definitely please all fans of classic RPGs. This is the case when the walkthrough can be made more convenient, but do not lose the depth of mechanics and complexity of tactics. The flexible features of the dialog system allow you to play it in completely different ways, and the only thing that spoils the impression is technical problems on consoles. But if you play it on a PC, you can safely add one point to the final score.

Pillars of Eternity II is a 9/10 RPG tragically trapped inside a 7/10 game. The quality of the writing and the world-building is second to none, and the tried and tested combat mechanics are meticulously tuned, but the outrageous loading times and other technical issues are too upsetting to ignore. It's like sitting in a fine Italian restaurant, sipping a glass of wine and nibbling on breadsticks, enjoying your date, and then the waiter comes over and drops a dead dog on the table. Wrong table, mate. I ordered the carbonara. Now get that dead dog out of my sight.
