Resident Evil's Newest Official Remake Isn't At All What We Expected

If there's one thing you can set your watch by, it's Capcom releasing a remake of the rather amazing Resident Evil series every couple of years. We've seen a resurgence in survival horror games, and it's mainly thanks to the incredible remakes of the old Resi games we all grew up with. It also doesn't hurt that newer games in the franchise like Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil Requiem are absolute bangers too.

With Capcom's latest remake of Resident Evil 4 launching back in 2023, many fans were expecting the next remake to be Resident Evil 5. Makes sense, right? Well, while that is definitely in the works, it looks like we're getting a surprise before we go revisiting West Africa. Bandai Namco have announced that this month, they'll be testing an entirely different title across select locations in Japan.

No need to guess which Resident Evil game they're going to remake next anymore. The Resident Evil 2 remake from 2019 is getting a new run in a majorly different way.
