007 First Light Is The Latest Game To Hide Denuvo Until A Few Days Before Release, And It's Being Taken As Well As Ever

007 First Light's Steam page has been quietly updated to confirm the controversial inclusion of Denuvo DRM, less than a week before the game's launch.

If you're a PC gamer, then the words "Denuvo Anti-Tamper" very likely send a chill up your spine. Denuvo is an anti-piracy software that has the nasty side-effect of making pretty much any game that it touches run and perform just a little bit worse. It's especially become a pain point over the last few years as games get even more demanding and have more trouble running as it is.

Developers clearly know how we all feel about Denuvo's inclusion in games, as there's been a trend lately of not announcing the use of DRM until much closer to a game's launch, essentially trying to sneak it in. Lego Batman and Crimson Desert both came under fire for how they approached Denuvo's inclusion, and now it looks like it's 007 First Light's turn.

As pointed out by Notebookcheck, the Steam page for 007 First Light was updated yesterday with the nasty yellow box that everyone was hoping wouldn't show up. That's right, the infamous "Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-Tamper" message was added...
