Taking time away from running their own store, and suing various mobile companies, Epic Games paid some attention to one of their non-Fortnite games this weekend with Rocket League hosting a Paris Major event that showcased the future of Rocket League, and Unreal Engine 6.
Since being purchased by Epic Games in 2019, players have wondered when Rocket League would get upgraded from the old Unreal Engine 3 that it uses, with many expecting over the last 6 years that it would be upgraded to Unreal Engine 5 that is currently Epic's main engine. For those who doubt it would ever release on Unreal Engine 5, that would appear to be the case as the teaser shown is of Unreal Engine 6, though we don't get many details about it.
