Destiny 2 players intend to meet up to celebrate the final Bungie Day before the game ends, now that its active development has officially wrapped up and there's no intention to continue producing any content for it. Destiny 2 will remain up and running for the foreseeable future, of course, but the fact remains that the team responsible for it has been laid off, with Marathon taking over as the current Bungie flagship.
While the game would always have drawn in a nostalgic crowd for its grand finale, it certainly helps that Destiny 2's final update was great, actually. Barring some notable bugs and technical problems, the game is now in a remarkably healthy state with plenty of relevant content and a virtually infinite pool of loot to chase after. This means that though some may be put off by the idea of there never being more content released for Destiny 2, the bits that are present are a high point and will give players plenty to enjoy.
