It looks like PlayStation didn't learn its lesson from one of its earliest Helldivers 2 fiascos, as Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is the latest game to get blocked due to PSN requirements.
Although Helldivers 2 is now viewed as one of PlayStation's biggest live-service victories (even if the community turns against it every other patch), it went through hell and back to get to a stable point. Perhaps the biggest roadblock it faced was its PlayStation Network requirements on Steam, which went down like a lead balloon with PC gamers.
Not only did forcing PSN on players cause the game to drop to Overwhelmingly Negative for the first time, but it also resulted in over 170 countries being blocked from purchase due to not having the service. That controversy clearly hasn't changed PlayStation's approach to PSN, as it's happening all over again with Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.
As pointed out by ResetEra user Chairmanchuck, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls' SteamDB listing confirms that the game isn't going to be available for purchase in 132 countries in the world. The listing for the game's various editions has a notice saying "Not in 132 countries", which has dropped a bit from Helldivers...
