Console players of Diablo III are in for such a good time with Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition.
It remains one of the best and most surprisingly great games of the past few years, and this definitive console edition is the best way to experience the game if you haven't already taken the Luchador leap. It's fun, creative, and lasts just long enough to make you wish there was more.
For people who just want to be a pirate, there really is nothing else for you out there, so indulge in the only real great pirate game on the market. That is until Ubisoft makes a full-on pirate spinoff from this mainline entry in Assassin's Creed – well I can hope.
While FIFA 14 might not present the revolutionary leap many of us imagined with the shift to a new generation of consoles, it is undoubtedly the best soccer game that's ever been released.
With a story that will leave thought waves pulsating to the tune of the excellent writing, intriguing gameplay that breaches boundaries of immersion, and with a Wii U version coming soon that will be much more accessible for those with physical disabilities because the controller will replace a mouse, Nihilumbra is a demonstration of how video games that immerse the player in telling stories, gameplay that challenges the forefront of perception, and having puzzles that will be remembrances at lunch can never be beaten by mainstream titles – no matter how unique the fire particles get.
It's not enough to bring back people who didn't like the skill tree implementation, but for fans who grew a little tired of the end game, they will be happy to know that the evolution of Diablo III has moved in the right direction, and with an endless randomly generated mode that will keep fans hooked for hours upon hours until the next expansion hits, Reaper of Souls is a must own for fans of Diablo III.
If you're a fan of RPGs, you owe it to yourself to play this game. Keep in mind that it's not easy and that the governing system isn't for everyone; however, get past that, and there's a classic that compares to any behemoths of the genre even today. Just don't blame me when you find yourself stuck in the first area; this game is hard, and you will be better for playing.
Ultimately, above all else, the game comes across as feeling wholly authentic – and that is a word you can attribute to only a small handful of games released in this day and age.
Splatoon isn't perfect, but despite the faults it's a wonderful game, both online and offline. There's some fantastic ideas here that can be built upon, but as it stands right now, it's already superb. A little rough around the edges, but in the heat of the moment during a good multiplayer match, it's a whale of a time.
Ultimately this is a game that should cheer most up, even from the dullest of moods, and possibly make them feel a bit tingly in the process – due to the near saccharin levels of sheer cuteness on screen at all times. You could almost call it the video game equivalent of an ASMR video – but a lot less creepy and weird.
This game was yet another solid, fun-for-days title in the Mario series. Just don't bother collecting the coins. Trust me.
I can imagine some Metal Gear fans might not enjoy this style of gameplay, but if any are willing to give it a shot or if you are a fan of high paced action, then you owe yourself to jump into Revengeance's stylish and exceptional top class gameplay and have a slash of a time
At its core Rocket League is gameplay perfected and with a suite of multiplayer options, the game will see life for many months to come.
I had high praise for Valkyria Chronicles when it first came out on PlayStation 3. Even now, I feel that Valkyria Chronicles is a game that deserves to be played by everyone. It's innovative, refreshing and blends different mechanics from other genres exceptionally well.
If you've never played Resident Evil 4, then you really need to experience this title, from both a gameplay and a design viewpoint, and understand the exhaustive craftsmanship that went into creating a video game masterpiece.
I'm with you to the end Life is Strange.
While this year's FIFA entry might not be the complete overhaul I wanted, the changes have significantly improved the meta-game and almost chess like war between two equally good players, with the nuances of the gameplay becoming more apparent as we head further out from launch day. FIFA 16 is as close to the real game as players will ever get and continuous support in the way of match day updates and Ultimate Team challenges will further cement it as the best football sim on the market.
This. Game. Is. Astounding. Go. Buy. It. Oh I suppose you'll expect some kind of proper conclusion. Divinity is packed with enough content to keep you going well above the seventy hour mark, and enough choices and outcomes in every situation to make you want to start a new game the minute the credits begin rolling.
Nevertheless, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is a bringing together of what is probably the best set of games of the last generation. Developer diaries and commentary additions withstanding, the three games hold up in 2015 and, leading up to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, offer those who did not have the chance to play last generation to experience Drake's entire tale before what could be his final outing.
