Event [0] is one of those so-called “walking simulators”, it’s an experience where players do a lot of walking while solving some puzzles. I like walking simulators, they are often interesting experiences like a book or a movie. It is important to know that Event [0] falls under the walking simulator category because that genre is not for everyone.
I usually never enjoy MOBA games, but Atlas Reactor is something extra. The Xcom meets Overwatch gameplay combined with the low price makes the game worthwhile for fans of both genres. It's not perfect but it's really enjoyable.
Dragon Quest Builders is an incredibly strong title, both in gameplay and presentation. It might not be pushing the PS4 hardware to its limits by any means, especially since this is also available on the Vita, but its gorgeous color palette and cute character designs make it very pleasing to look at for extended periods of time. For those that like that typical DQ soundtrack, will find a lot to like here as well.
Overall I would say the game accurately portrays WWE programming at the moment. What do I mean by that? Well, the emphasis is all on the ring work, but the ability to tell a story lets it down.
If it weren't for the astounding number of glitches and lack of mission variety, this would be my game of they year. The story is captivating, the world is immersive (yet lacking content), and the gameplay is nearly flawless.
Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 is a refined version of the first game, with a second campaign that focuses more on action than picking your shots. This makes it an excellent choices for fans of the first installment and newcomers alike.
Aragami is a solid, interesting game that suffers from some rough performance issues on PS4. Still, it you enjoy stealth and can overlook performance issues, this game is for you.
FIFA 17 is hands down the best FIFA game I have played in years. It nails the atmosphere and intensity of playing a match in a large arena with an energetic crowd, it introduces a great, new story mode with emotion and loads of character, and it has some of the best gameplay of the series. EA knocked it out of the park with this one (sorry, wrong sport) and has potentially changed all future EA Sports titles for the better.
Dead Rising Triple Pack collection stands the test of time with its performance and holds up incredibly well. Unfortunately, there are only so many ways to kill a zombie and zombie fatigue sets in sooner than expected.
NHL 17 is one of the best hockey games of this generation. It doesn't feel like a slightly upgraded version of the last game, it builds upon old ground and makes it feel fresh and new through awesome new modes and great gameplay.
Inversus can be a part of any gamer’s regular rotation of multiplayer games, it just needs a larger online community.
A few flaws keep Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice from perfection, particularly other characters, but it succeeds at being a simple game about going fast. Pick this one up and go for the time trials, it's a lot of fun.
